Re: UK to build new Nuclear Power Station

I worked on the build of Heysham 1 many moons ago and always believed that's the way Cyprus should go, build a nuclear power station. Seeing the problems Lebanon are having , a power station big enough to export energy there and fill the needs of the whole island would be a nice little earner and ho...

Re: Consumers should brace for much higher prices in basic goods this Christmas

Looking at it from an ecological stance then manufacturing/ producing locally to sell locally would be better , whilst all items cannot be produced locally , many more could if they wanted to. Why are shops stocked with imported vegetables and fruit which are grown or have been on the island ? Beca...

Re: audi sat nav maps

Go to the Audi garage on Geroskipou Trading Estate. I had the same problem with my car and I couldn't get a map for Cyprus when I went the main dealer.
Hope you have better luck.

Re: Era & Superhomes closure

There used to be a supermarket there at the back of Debenhams (as it then was). But it was removed suddenly a few years ago to extend the retail space for new cheaper brands of clothes, such as Peacocks. Dee You've lost me, I can't remember a supermarket at back of Debenhams. :? :? :? I remember pr...

Re: Era & Superhomes closure

I think there's quite a few other places operating without licences that should be addressed before going after this particular company. Paphos needs department stores like this. Same happened with the Planet Cinema Complex. Why, if a place is allegedly operating Illegaly, why should any place be e...

I read there's a court case going on about licensing, in fact it's been going on for several years and is finally coming to a head.

Re: Coal, really?

Well if the price of gas continues to rise, Govt's in cold parts of the world may well start to use coal if its easily obtainable. Coal was the traditional fuel and used in power stations to produce electricity for essential needs. Unfortunately, I seem to remember reading somewhere that the UK no ...

Re: External stone sealer - Matt finish

I would suggest parking in the Sklavanides car park and walking.
Went to Lidl this morning and it was chaos in that area. People were trying to use Lidl car park as a cut through to Messogi Avenue but the exit was blocked off as well. If you go to Lidl best to use the spill over car park.

Re: If only I'd warned...

Completely ignoring the reported global increase in food prices this year. As for empty shelves in supermarkets, look in Alpha Mega, Phillipos and even Jumbo, loads of empty shelves. What can possibly cause that in the paradise that is the EU! Apart from changing their stock for Christmas in Jumbo ...
