Re: 62 new cases today...
Bit of a spike in figures today. They haven't yet fully examined each positive case, but over half of the 40 odd they have done were down to track and trace. I won't do a news article because I don't trust the autotranslate. It's ok for when it is about country categories, but medical information t...

Re: flight and covid
True, you cannot legally not allow a citizen or legal resident to return, BUT airlines are duty bound not to put their own staff (or clients) at undue risk, so it would be up to citizens etc to find a safe way to return that did not put others at risk.

Re: I think this will put the cat amongst the pigeons
What this will do I hope, is to show who (if any) are without involvement in this corruption. Will Prez Nick strongly condemn his MP's involved and take the necessary measures a democratic government should take? I'm not holding my breath!

Re: Almost 2,000 traffic violations in only three days
WHL, and Paulo, thanks for explaining how the system here works if people omit to pay their motoring fines. I've only had the odd parking ticket here and always go to pay it within a week or so... so was not aware of the way that motoring fines stack up if unpaid But I seem to remember that when Cy...

Do you mean by that, to not rely on excel, as it's been known to have internal errors? My computer manager made me aware, when some of my data went missing or slipped into another cell!

Re: Joining Gesy below retirement age
My Filipino carer (well below retirement age!) for whom I pay Social Insurance is in GESY, so why not anyone else that lives here legally who either has a UK pension or is working and paying social insurance?

Re: Almost 2,000 traffic violations in only three days
What point are they making, or are they now just out to catch more (& record the same)? The number of transgressions is unlikely to be very different from last week or change any day soon. Perhaps the police think that if people read this, they might just slow down a tad or leave the phone on th...

Re: Car insurance
Depending on your age it can be very difficult to change insurer.. My FIL was 80 when we arrived here and no one would insure him. He had to get three letters of refusal and go on the Government scheme which was only 3rd party accident, not even fire and theft :-( That's what newly qualified driver...

I think it required a copy of my deeds, not MEU3. It also requires your building permit and copies of the past 6 bills from EAC.

Isn't it the case that once you pass that 'magic age', it's very difficult to change insurers?

Re: Tax form 2019
I cannot understand why there's a problem. I've been a taxpayer here since 2010 and my exemption certificate is dated 24 Sep 2020. After many 'error' notifications I took the advice of others on the forum & put 22 Sep 2020 for it to then accept. I cannot think what else you can do, other than ca...

Re: Tax form 2019
Thanks Mike. It accepted the figures as integers on entry, it was just when trying to submit that the system said the figures weren't there. When we tried with decimals using a comma the word Nan came up in the final column of line 1 so assumed this was an error and it did not like decimals. Regard...

Re: North Cyprus to reopen beach
Did I use the word "United"? No, the word was "settlement". It will take more than just the GC & Turkey to come to some form of settlement, but a United Cyprus is just not going to happen!
