Re: Some Cyprus flights cancelled as BA pilots begin 48-hour strike

BA pilots, according to UK papers earn £167,000 per year plus allowances plus free accommodation plus they receive free or heavily discounted (90% discount) fares for themselves and family. I know they have responsible jobs with lots of training involved but so do many other trades/professions - and...

Re: What a fantastic race: Leclerc/Ferrari wins Monza..

I agree, it was a super win for Leclerc and I was on the edge of the seat watching - but what about Vettel - beaten again by his teammate and errors in the race. Will Vettel retire at the end of the year?

Re: Prime minister

Surely whoever takes over has the same problem as Mrs May - too many MP's with their own views and self interest and who cannot collectively agree. Best of luck to whoever takes the job

Price of Keo

I'm not complaining at all but why does the price of Keo never seem to go up? The Jail in Peyia has been charging €2.50 a pint for years and the Mill in Peyia is charging €2.00 per pint again for what seems a very long time. In the UK the price of beer always seems to be creeping up and at our villa...

Re: Marella Cruises sailing from Cyprus in 2019 and 20.

It's great news. Loved the old Thompson Spirit, went twice on it. Incidentally we went on the Celebration around the Canary Islands approx. three years ago. Yes, it's an older ship but we prefer smaller ships rather than the new 5,000 passenger mega cruisers. The atmosphere and staff on the Celebrat...

Re: Complex committee

Hi On our complex in Peyia we formed a management committee around four years ago. We should have done it sooner as our communal charges are now much lower and more importantly the complex is in a much better state of repair and looks far smarter that it ever was. We have no real issues with collect...

Ryanair Stansted Flights

Anyone else noticed that in the last few weeks the majority of Ryanair Stansted to Paphos flights are late leaving Stansted. Tonight's flight is no exception as it was over 2 hours late leaving. Does anyone know what's happening? They used to have such a good record for being on time.

Lovely photos, brings back happy memories of Egypt. We went to Egypt again last year and did a similar cruise between Luxor & Aswan. It was great and we could do it again no problem, it's all so interesting. In the past we have stayed at a hotel in Aswan, its a bit tricky getting there but worth it....

Re: Maybe why I have never wanted to go on a cruise ship.:O)

We too have been on many cruises, never experienced anything like that. Mind you on our last cruise someone stole our camera, was never handed in to reception, never seen again. What a rotter. We obviously lost our photos we took on that trip and some earlier ones. It has not put us off though we ar...

Re: SOS TV

As an alternative does Netflix work in Cyprus? They seem to be advertising the service at €7.99 per month. I have an ordinary flat screen TV - however would you need a smart TV, or a box, or something so that it works?

Israel Trip

Hi All We have always thought we would like to go and we are seriously now considering visiting Israel next year. Now that Ryanair are doing flights from Paphos to Tel Aviv we will probably go with them as its convenient. We would prefer to have some sort of guided tour, probably a week or so, to ta...

Transfer Property to Children

We are thinking of the future and our mortality (hope it's a long way off) and have been sorting out our affairs in the UK. One thing we did do was to transfer a property into our children's names. We went down to UK Land Registry and did it ourselves at minimal cost. Now what about Cyprus! We are a...

Netflix & NowTV

When we come out again in June (its been a long 9 weeks back in the UK!) we need to think about sorting out the TV. Can you get Netflix and/or NowTV in Cyprus and if so what equipment do we need? Also who would supply whatever we need? Our TV is about two years old and we have quite decent CYTA broa...

Re: NHS in Great Britain

Who in their right mind would want to be Chief Executive of the NHS! In my view it's far too big for anyone to control it. A horrendous job.

Another point is that over the years there always seems to be a demand for more and more cash. Is the NHS a bottomless pit?
