Re: Solar Panels and cleaning
i agree with trev and uncle D
In normal use it makes no sense to pay someone to clean them. The cost is likely to exceed the benefit

Re: application form for applying for a biometric card
Clive – you may have misunderstood me. I am not a UK resident in Cyprus – I, and I suspect you, are UK Nationals resident in Cyprus. Your yellow slip is irrelevant when travelling in Europe (other than Cyprus). It may not appear that way, but it is. A Cyprus issued Biometric card is recognised in al...

Re: application form for applying for a biometric card
As I understand it, obtaining a Biometric card by August 2026 is NOT compulsory...YET for UK residents in Cyprus. A Biometric Card is very convenient if you are a frequent flyer to countries in the Schengen Zone and as an ID card in Cyprus, but many organisations still want to see your passport and...

i think you will find that as a general rule imports from third countries (for example the UK) are only allowed where the age of the car is less than 5 years..

Re: Cost of electric bills for PV owners to increase by 16%+
It is a small increase but its interesting for two reasons.. 1) which tarriffs the EAC is increasing (network access rather than cost of generating electricty) and 2) at somepoint network access is going to become seperate from generation when we seperation running the network from generation (1 oct...

Re: Caught at the traffic lights
At traffic lights the white line is a mandatory stop line, if you go over the line at a red light you have committed an offence. Yes, but will the fine be the same as for the much bigger offence of crossing an intersection at red? As far as i am aware there is no offence of 'crossing an intersectio...

Re: Net Metering v Net Billing
The EAC will not pay anything for the exported units - instead you get a credit against your next EAC bill and its not clear as to how much the credit will be (€0.08-0.10/kWh?) There is a real issue here - there are many businesses which provide solar power installations to domestic premises - how m...

Re: Caught at the traffic lights
more than one picture taken..
And the offence is crossing the white line on a red signal.. So if no part of the car moves over a white line you should not get a fine..

Re: Electricity supply sufficient thanks to installed PV modules
Interesting figures today in the press that electricity supply if sufficient in that heat wave we actually have. Here part of the article: "The TSO had said earlier that as of midday, the country’s electricity demand was 1,002 megawatts, and that this was covered by 513 megawatts of production...

Re: Net Metering v Net Billing
Hi Sorry, I thought what you were trying to model was whether people without PV should enter into the new net billing contact. You indicated they would certainly be better off by doing so. my analysis is that it depends on: 1) whether it is compulory to buy a battery and how much the grant is for th...

Re: Caught at the traffic lights
When turning right at the lights is it ok to proceed over the white line and wait until an opportunity arises to take the turn? ( Standard practice)... Re: Caught at the traffic lights
The camera is activated if any part of your car moves over the white line just before the lights while the lights are on Red. So ensure all of the car is behind the white line just before the lights all the time a red light is shown. And if part of your car is over the white line just before the lig...

Re: Net Metering v Net Billing
Hi Useful exercise but I am not convinced by the methodology you have used. I cant find anything on the EAC that shows how this will work going forward. However my understanding is that the current system for net billing is as follows Credit for export to go against the bill Any excess credit to get...
