Does anyone know if any person/shop/business in Paphos will deliver a standard 10kg bottle/cylinder of gas to our house? We are in the central Paphos area near Kinira.
It is the standard 10kg gas bottle used for cooking.
We have not been able to find anywhere and we have no car here.

Re: Bank account - without residence permit
Dee,
I have confirmed it again with the lawyer. They have said that a Cyprus Bank Account is a mandatory requirement for a MEU2 application, or for a Temporary Residence Permit application.

Yes I have spoken to a lawyer thanks. And it was the lawyer who said I needed to open a bank account to get a residence permit! And the banks all say that I need a residence permit to open a bank account!

Re: Bank account - without residence permit
I am in Paphos and so a branch in Polis would be a bit impractical. You also said your friend got his residency two days after opening the account and so he must have had a very short examination period or already been well advanced with the application process. I was told the examination period wil...

Re: Bank account - without residence permit
Termites. So what can I do to open a bank account? I have already tried all of the banks and they have all said I need a residence permit. I will probably not get the residence permit until next January at the earliest. My first immigration appointment is next month and the waiting time will be abou...

Bank account - without residence permit
Anyone know how or where I can open a local bank account without yet having received my residence permit/certificate? I have tried to open an account with Bank of Cyprus, Hellenic, Astra, but they have all said that I need to have a residence permit/certificate. The person helping me with my residen...

Re: Tax Number
Thanks dodo. It looks then like there will be some forms, and I will also probably have to get the residence permit before asking for a tax number.

Tax Number
Does anyone know the simplest way to get a tax number? I plan to be resident in Cyprus for the remainder of this year and also after this year, and so I will need to register for tax and get a tax number. Is it just a matter of phoning the Tax Office and requesting a tax number? Or are there lots of...

Re: Immigration / Residence - help or advice
Wensbry. So do you think the online booking maybe only works at a certain time of the day? That would be quite odd. I have already tried at all times in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Dominic is also saying that there are no available times. Are you using just an ordinary phone or computer? Ar...

Re: Immigration / Residence - help or advice
Thanks for the replies so far. It looks then like we will have to seek the help of a solicitor as the booking process for ordinary people online seems to be impossible. Maybe you need to have local knowledge to get an appointment. Wensbry. I am not sure how you are able to find the appointment times...

Re: Immigration / Residence - help or advice
I have been on the Immigration booking website to try to book an appointment, and the website says that there are no available appointment times in the Paphos Immigration office for the next 12 months! Does anyone here have any clue what the system is here and what we should do now? Our visas will e...

Re: Immigration / Residence - help or advice
Thanks Wensbry, That is quite a shock to hear that we will have to wait at least 3 months for an appointment with Immigration. Will there not be any problem if we go over our visa date? Is the system here for appointments always so slow? And is there nothing that we can do by phone/email to them to ...

Immigration / Residence - help or advice
We would like to apply for long term residence in Cyprus over the next few weeks and so we are just wondering about the correct procedure. Myself and wife are from the UK and our small child is an Irish citizen. I understand that my child has freedom of movement as a EU citizen and we can also live ...

Re: Procedure to see a doctor / GP
Thanks for the replies so far. So are all of these doctors/hospitals that are listed in the Health Care Directory private? And can I just phone any of them at any time and a GP will see me at short notice for a consultation costing €20/€30? And what if any further work is needed like scans or tests?...

Procedure to see a doctor / GP
I am recently arrived to live in Paphos and I not very sure about the correct procedure if I need to see a doctor or a GP. If I have some troubling pain for example can I just go to see any public doctor or private doctor in Paphos, or do I need to register with the local health system before I can ...
