Re: Burning of trees near Polis turtle beach condemned
Nothing to do with the golf courses then...The place looks like a battlefield. I'm not sure from your profile where you actually live, but I do live here and according to some local people I've spoken to, the indigenous vegetation is being left in place while other vegetation, which was becoming ov...

Re: Travel Insurance
Having made 66, my Travel Insurance is now going to restricts me to 31 days in any trip when I renew it. As I like to come to Cyprus for about six weeks at a time, four times a year, this is clearly not good. I will have a good look round before I renew it, but has anyone else come across a company...

Re: Valentines day, are you treating your other half
First time in 50+ years but wife said I am treating you to a meal today. Not one to turn down an offer I chose the Star Inn in Stoney Stanton where my daughter recently moved to. They serve Mild beer which I was weened on but very few pubs sell it today. Any expats drunk it? http://starinnstoneysta...

Re: Praise for DHL
When I spoke to the Cyprus Post Office they said (if I understood her correctly) that DHL had changed from air delivery from Germany to sending stuff to Athens by truck and flying from there. In any event, they said they could do nothing until it actually arrived in Cyprus, and to be fair to them, i...

Re: Praise for DHL
Had to laugh - I ordered something from Amazon Germany on 28th November which was shipped via DHL. Its tracking details displayed this for days on end... DHL.jpg so I contacted Amazon Germany who decided it must be lost and sent a replacement via UPS. The UPS item was ordered at 16:50 on 18th Dec an...

Re: French Take Majority Stake In Gatwick Airport
I'm a little confused. GIP, the US-based investment company which currently owns Gatwick sold 50.1% of it to a French-based global airports company which owns 40+ other airports around the world, and doubled their money by doing so. What's this got to do with Brexit?
