Re: Brass Monkey Weather

I was up in the village of Arakapas this morning (up in the hills north of Limassol) and there was ice on the stamped concrete around the pool.

Re: How is Cyprus Doing With the Vaccine Roll Out ?

Many of which are not tried and tested as yet and certainly the long term effects. So how long do you suggest "long term effects" should be trialled for? 5 years? 10 years? Do you really believe humankind can withstand the devastation Covid-19 is causing for 5 to 10 years? Which is the lesser of tw...

Re: How is Cyprus Doing With the Vaccine Roll Out ?

It appears that AstraZeneca are happy to work with the Sputnik V vaccine: https://uk.news.yahoo.com/coronavirus-why-combining-oxford-vaccine-130313493.html Final two paras of the article: The Russian Sputnik V vaccine acknowledges that immunity to the viral vector could be a problem, but comes up wi...

Re: Amazon UK

I've had several orders cancelled through delivery problems though the wife received a package yesterday from Amazon UK delivered to the door with no additional charges. Don't know when you ordered JIm, but Cyprus Customs agreed that all orders in transit before 31st Dec would not be subject to ins...

Re: Amazon UK

Thanks all for the heads-up. We already buy supplements from Healthspan and have for at least a decade. We always try to buy the best quality supplements we can, as it is all to easy for shyster/cheap companies to compromise on ingredients. A recent investigative survey revealed all the scams going ...

Re: How is Cyprus Doing With the Vaccine Roll Out ?

My wife was chatting with a Russian neighbour today. She said her husband had to rush back to Moscow to look after his elderly father. While there he was asked if he wanted the vaccine. He was a little surprised to be asked, as he is middle-aged, rather than elderly. He was told by the doctor that t...

Re: Shipping Tool Form

The bullying Bloc is dictating the tone of the relationship as it always has and, indeed, always will. If you're in business I'm surprised to hear you say that. You must be very naive if you believed that things would carry on as before, when the UK was a fully-fledged member of the EU trading part...

Re: Shipping Tool Form

I've put off sending a small package to the UK until others have done it and had the T-shirt. Off on a tangent, I, our Cyprus import agent and a supplier in the UK have collectively spent around 15 hours these past few days trying to get the paperwork correct to import a consignment of three pool co...

Re: Amazon UK

Thanks for the suggestion, but just one capsule at breakfast sets me up for the day and instantly takes away any pain or stiffness in my back. After that I'm all set up up for the day.

Full English...ah, those were the days

A late-at-night typo; I stand corrected.

Either way it's a vaccine...we'll take whatever is available at the time.

Re: Garage Door

Hardly cheaper. Wood is expensive in Cyprus and by the time it has been crafted into "barn doors" by a skilled tradesman I suspect the cost will be far greater than any sheet of pressed aluminium, as it appears that's what the OP is after. Aside from which, as someone who have spent hundreds of hour...

Re: Amazon UK

I've made the point before how much more expensive Amazon.de is than co.uk. On Amazon.co.uk the Kidde CO detector I want is £9.99. On Amazon.de the same item is €28.10! I also wanted to buy Turmeric capsules...and rather bizarrely, every single supplier on .co.uk says "currently unavailable". Yet .d...

Anyone old enough to remember a piece on Blue Peter in the 50's where they showed children how to make Ginger Beer? I can still remember making it; from memory it was quite easy.

From Jimgym's directions I thought that very much sounded like Dr George Vorkas clinic. He's extremely good, efficient and inexpensive.

Re: DRY Ginger Ale

I LOVE ginger and have Tiptree Ginger Conserve on my toast every morning. Very hard to get in Cyprus though. I also love ginger cake, but sadly no-one else in the family does, so I never now make it
