Re: So is it August 1st or Not ?

They are now expecting passengers to provide their own sandwiches. How awful is that especially with waiting time at the airport, in the cattle pens in Cyprus hot summer weather, before a flight of around 4.5 hrs. to your UK destination Suits me. That's what we do every time anyway. We either take ...

Re: So is it August 1st or Not ?

While accepting the urgent need for the Cyprus tourism sector to get back to receiving paying guests, I'm sure wife and I can't be the only ones relishing the new (almost) Covid-free status of Cyprus, which means we can live a normal life without constant fear of catching the virus. Until the UK get...

Re: Flights via mainland Europe to the UK

Ryanair Bournemouth to Paphos just landed today.... Correct. While enjoying a leisurely day outside today I've seen 5 or 6 Ryanair flights go in. Wife showed me on her iPad that one of them was from Bournemouth. But this remains a puzzle to me... I thought people from the UK were not allowed in unt...

Re: Brits To Cyprus

Stanley Johnson certainly needs his eyesight tested, he thought he was on his way to Barnard Castle  Quite by chance he ended up at his villa in Greece. Via. Bulgaria. Breaking Bulgaria's 14 day quarantine requirement for travellers to the country. One law for them, another for the plebs. Do as...

Re: Brits To Cyprus

I wonder who is worse, those who seek to mock a persons appearance on Twitter of all places, or those who repost it? Devoid of any decent argument so let's talk about a person's looks. Impressive, not. Ever heard of "First impressions count"? Johnson is supposed to be a statesman, Prime Minister no...

Re: Return of deposit on property purchase?

A deal was done, the €5,000 is belongs to your relation, unless the purchaser can show a signed document indicating the deposit was refundable. The estate agent turned down offers in the intervening period because they considered the property sold. A deposit is a token of good faith. When you pay a ...

Re: ‘The Time is Ripe’

Wow! That was a thoroughly enjoyable piece of music! Amazing range of instruments; great vocals too. What I found surprising was the fabulous calypso riff which comes and goes throughout. Nice video editing. Agree with josef k, it is the young to whom we must look to bring the communities together. ...

Re: Easyjet to close 3 UK airport hubs

Airlines have huge expenses and need to keep their aircraft flying passengers to earn their keep.' Dee. No-one would dispute this. But no point in carting millions of Covid carriers all over the globe. You have to suppress the infection before it's (reasonably) safe to start transporting passengers...

Ah yes, Boris, the buffoon.

As former Conservative minister, Ken Clarke, once observed: "Boris couldn't run a whelk stall". Starmer runs circles round him at PMQs.

Re: Fake Pilot Licences

The EU will not allow certain airlines to enter its air space unless they have a EU approved licences, these are the strictest in the world. This is one of the reasons why airlines like Easyjet have moved offices from Britain to the EU, all aircraft servicing is done in the EU is one of the require...

And here's the world class statesman presiding over the Brexit withdrawal agreement. Unkempt hair, chipped teech, crumpled shirt, schoolboy-knotted tie...really inspires confidence, doesn't it  If Rishi Sunak and other cabinet ministers can get their hair cut and look half respectable, why not ...

Re: Probate in Cyprus,,Oh dear!

What your friend 'in the pub' didn't say was whether the lawyer was just employed to obtain probate or whether he/she was also executor on the Will. It makes a whole lot of difference. It certainly does. And we have nominated family members in Cyprus to act as executors...with the lawyer only as la...

I'm amazed by the number of staff members in supermarkets who wear the mask over mouth only and not nose. Saw this on the deli counter in Paps in town the other day. Any microscopic droplets from the nose will land on the meats and cheeses

My wife's pretty hard to please when it comes to hairdressers, but she is VERY happy with Jonny Boo, just a few hundred metres from the Immigration office in town. She was recommended to Johnny by a former member of the forum, who has since sadly passed. Hygiene precautions very stringent. A web sea...

Ditto. Are Kouklia Council going to change their ways because little ol' Lloyd protests about an item of expenditure? Sorry, got more important things to do with my time.

Re: Village Community Charge

Agree, ridiculous comment. Who cares? If you have time to read your local council's accounts, you must have plenty of time on your hands.

If Kouklia Council sent their accounts to me it would go straight in the bin, unread.
