Re: Trying to contact Simon Beazley

Simon went back to the UK some time ago, but I believe he has a contact in Paphos who collects subscriptions on his behalf. I have an email address I can PM you if you want. Your box will be locked to Simon like ours was, but it can be easily unlocked for a small charge. You could then alternatively...

Why not ask around a few law firms? Simple email or phone call, stating your precise requirements.

Re: Extinction Rebellion protests:

It will take years, if not decades, to transition from plastic to paper and alternative consumables. It will happen, but give it time. You can't build mega-factories capable of manufacturing new paper products overnight. Plus many consumables will have to be thought out and re-engineered from new ma...

Yes, I meant to mention the re-airing of this series. Watched it the first time around and it was excellent viewing.

Re: Extinction Rebellion protests:

The UK where they would grow up would be nothing like the 50,60 70 s but more violent and hard to live and be kids. I don't fear for my grandkids because humans are enterprising and resourceful and will find ways around difficult situations. For sure the next 50 years will be different to the last ...

Re: Law allows Brits to live in Cyprus in case of no deal Brexit

Agree Jim. And for a country founded and made immeasurably richer by immigrants, Trumps's latest xenophobic, racially-prejudiced tweets are an absolute disgrace. More so as 3 of the 4 targets of his tweets were born in America. As you say, thank goodness Cyprus and other European countries can see t...

Re: Trump's Latest Pearls of Wisdom

Oh Maggie, I relish this sort of programme and found it edge-of-the-seat hugely entertaing...in equal measure to my wife's dislike of politics and who is turned off by televised debate, invariably resulting in her saying "I'm off at bed..." Fleetingly I feel guilty for her having to resort to that c...

...and I can remember in the 1970's, at the time of some worldwide oil crisis or other, when we were told that the world was rapidly running out of oil and that petrol and plastics (which derive from crude oil) would be scarce and unaffordable a few years hence. Here we are, 50 years on still findin...

Re: Law allows Brits to live in Cyprus in case of no deal Brexit

Does this mean that people who have been applying for MEU(1) or MEU(3) have been wasting their times and money? With respect Mike, that's as daft as asking if you wasted money insuring your home or car, but did not make a claim during the insured period  I'd rather have a belt and bra...

Re: A specially strained relationship

To say nothing of lowering of food standards (like chlorine-washed chicken). Trump has already made it a pre-condition of a deal that he will expect the UK to source significant amounts of food from the USA, which overall does not have the same standards as the EU.

Re: Trump's Latest Pearls of Wisdom

Did anyone see the Andrew Neil interviews on BBC1 last night (Friday)? Totally and utterly brilliant. Andrew first grilled (and I mean grilled ) Hunt for 30 mins...and then Boris. I don't think I have ever seen an interviewer so ruthlessly focussed on tearing evasive interviewees to shreds and refus...

Re: Smoking in Ambulance

A good few years ago I pulled into a petrol station in Pissouri, to fill up. The very elderly attendant was smoking as he filled up the car before me :o I stood well clear...but nothing happened. If, as we are led to believe, it's the petrol vapour which is explosive (as opposed to the liquid itself...

A pretty good - in fact very good - summary of the state of play, but no less than many of us were forecasting a year or so ago, when Brexiteers were chortling loudly from the rooftops that the USA would and could be our next big trading ally...one whose volumes could easily surpass that of the clos...

You haven't yet learned that the Cypriots are never wrong.

You forget to mention another trait, they never ever apologise when they are wrong, or screw up.

Re: Trump's Latest Pearls of Wisdom

Which might explain why, when pressed by Hunt in the ITV debate last night, Boris steadfastly refused to back the UK ambassador. Some in his party strongly condemned him for that today. Having been conned by this charlatan (Boris) at the time of the referendum, I am astounded that so many in the Con...

EAC had an unexpected breakdown...and their engineers were working on the problem and presumably restored su...

Re: 20 Years - that's how long it can take to make trade deals

Most know that Boris is little more than bluff, bluster and over-optimistic bravado. To whit: he has always claimed that should the UK leave on Halloween with a No Deal, the UK will revert to World trade Gatt 24 rules. Easy-peasy, he says. No so, says the man who knows all about Gatt 24: Boris Johns...
