Re: TRAVELLING TO UK WITH JET 2
We flew back with Jet2 last week from Paphos and made sure we were 3 hours early instead of our usual 2, and the desks were only just starting to get busy. There were 4 Jet2 departures due at the same time so it was obviously going to be busy later on. Paperwork printed off certainly helped. Booked ...

Re: Theft at Paphos Airport
They checked to ensure that the iPad had not come through separately, but no luck. On a brighter note, he immediately used his phone to wipe and lock the iPad to, hopefully, make it useless to the thief.

Theft at Paphos Airport
Some friends recently flew back to the UK after their first easing of Covid restrictions visit, having spent an enjoyable two weeks here. On the way through security they put their items in a scanner tray and then stepped through the people scanner. He was then taken to one side for what he subseque...

Re: 50,000 ev charging points
A new estate has just been built behind our house in Wakefield and about 50% of them have charging points. However, Wakefield, like numerous other places, has a lot of very old terraced houses with no parking spaces, in front or behind the houses, and limited on-street parking, so car owners just pa...

If he doesn't have to wear a mask I wonder why he had one on, albeit under his chin. Obviously trying it on, and well done for doing something about it.

Re: Parcels by Post to Cyprus - Duties Payable
Brexit has happened and, surely, it is time to move on whether or not you voted for it. Some on this forum get so worked up about it that I worry about their blood pressure! This will probably be contentious with some, but Brexit was for the benefit of the UK and if someone chose to relocate to anot...

Re: Covid Pandemic over in UK
I doubt that it will ever happen but I long for the day that News Readers report the news factually and objectively again. In other words revert to being News "READERS" which they used to be. The Covid situation has highlighted just how biased some of them actually are as they foist their ...

Re: Vaccination slots for 71+ open up on Tuesday 22nd February
alewfin1 - the population of the UK is more than double that of the 3 countries you have mentioned, and the UK population is crammed into a very small area, not spread out across very widespread areas. As an example, within not much more than 5 miles of where we live in West Yorkshire, we have more ...

Re: British citizens rights in EU/Cy after Brexit.
Excellent post. Just sorting out the basics, like the Title Deeds and swimming pool debacles, would be a step in the right direction. Cyprus has so much potential that, sadly, may never be realised fully, because of situations like these being allowed to continue.

Re: The UK's Handling of the Pandemic
Personally, I think that our government has done well in a very difficult time, and I agree with some of what Jimgward has said, particularly about London and the South. However, despite us being an island as well, I don't think we should be compared to Cyprus, New Zealand and Australia. Their combi...

The vote that only just went through ... by over 1.25 Million votes! So many disgruntled ex-Pats about Brexit even though you have left the UK to live in the EU.

I was comparing Cyprus with the UK.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
As I said - bigots.

It doesn't take long for the usual bigots to start sounding off. Undoubtedly things could have been handled better in the UK, but would any of the opposition parties done a better job of it. I don't think so. A couple of points that need to be made to add a bit of perspective to what has been happen...

Excellent post Lincoln.
Varky I have to wonder how many Americans you have actually met. Your sweeping generalisation is pathetic and, quite frankly, you are an embarrassment for making it. You are clearly the type of person the gutter press panders to with all of their negative reporting.

Re: Pigeons
We had a similar problem in our small complex last year. When I researched it a bit I read that pigeons will often choose places where there is water lying. A quick check of the roof and one of the supply hoses was leaking badly and there was a fair sized puddle up there, despite the very sunny weat...

Always find it a bit baffling when I see someone driving an expensive car with a phone glued to their ear. Some of those cars must have Hands Free fitted as standard.

Re: Staysure travel insurance
HiC - We travel to the States a lot, albeit from the UK so insurance isn't an issue. Regarding internet on the go, we generally buy a US SIM with a month's data etc. Available in vending machines at most airports when you land, and a variety of data plans. Recently we have been getting them from Ama...

Whenever you look for flight prices it is always best to do it using the private ie anonymous version of whatever browser you use. The airline's website will use cookies to identify you otherwise and, knowing that you are particularly interested in a flight, may well increase the price.
