Re: Drug deaths in Scotland overtake alcohol-related deaths for the. first time

Most of the deaths occur in the cities, Glasgow, Dundee in particular, where there is a lot of social deprivation, although the answer is much more complicated. Apparently, the rise in ‘blue pills’ and varying strengths of cocaine is a big problem, where deaths aren’t necessarily related to traditio...

Re: Oven temperatures

Can anyone help please? The oven is called PRINCE and the thermostat is 1 - 7? I have googled both name and temp range but not finding anything. I’m hoping someone has similar and can help. A date and walnut cake mix is waiting! I'd take the walnut cake, but a date would have my missus chucking me ...

Drug deaths in Scotland overtake alcohol-related deaths for the. first time

_107897450_optimised-02_international_comparison-nc.png Shocking how bad this is becoming and growing at 27% over previous year! It appears most bars and clubs have people, if all ages, doing cocaine - as common now as going out for a pint? "There are said to be about 60,000 problem drug users in S...

Can we assume then, that you are both wrong?

I would assume most in that census are elderly and so numbers will be lower, but more students now than 2011 I'd guess, so should even up?

Re: Panorama

WHL is correct, israel decided recently that ANY negative comment against the state of Israel, is anti-Semitic, which is preposterous. I totally support their being a state of Israel, as determined in the 40’s, however not the expansion that is happening at a rapid pace and the persecution Palestini...

Re: Law allows Brits to live in Cyprus in case of no deal Brexit

Good point JEBA, but that is going back a bit..... however, modern countries would almost all accept that migrants who work in a country, or are self-sufficient and spend in a country, contribute enormously. The horrible view that the media has perpetrated in the UK, has been that the country is bei...

Well, maybe many of the brexiteers in Cyprus, should thanks their lucky stars, that Cyrprus isn’t set upon being anti-immigration and immigrants, as many in Blighty are! They realise immigration makes a country richer and better!

Re: A specially strained relationship

If Boris thinks he can do a deal with the US on trade, we will be the losers. We already know it will be to also allow the NHS to open to US companies. Health costs 4 x the UK’s per head. The biggest overheads are insurance, profits, pharma and much higher salaries. It will destroy the NHS as we kno...

Re: Paphos marina study to look at option to include cruise ship facilities

The original plans of 10 - 12 years ago, included a cruise terminal at Potima. This was then removed due to cost reasons. Potima was chosen as it has the depth to suit cruise ships and is an unsuitable bay for bathing. It is also close enough to Paphos for easy transportation. Tourists on cruise lin...

Re: Trump's Latest Pearls of Wisdom

It’s amazing how the media has moved this into a castigation of the ambassador, rather than the whistleblower. If GCHQ cannot get to the bottom of the leak, then something is far wrong. I cannot imagine that an ambassador’s communications are distributed outside the top echelons of the Firesign offi...

Max, surely they are talking about a Air Source Heat Pump? Cost around 2,500euros to heat a large pool, but a cover is needed as well.
