Re: Get Ready For Brexit - Message from the High Commisioner
It has to be either or for MEU1 and 3 as not everyone has 5 plus years residency in order to apply for the 3.

Re: 500 Britons become Cypriots in the shadow of a hard Brexit
I don’t qualify for Irish citizenship even though my husband has it, otherwise I would have done this instead.

Re: 500 Britons become Cypriots in the shadow of a hard Brexit
It certainly is not for the faint hearted and applying for MEU1 & 3 seemed like a doddle in comparison. It took me from March till August to get everything in place to be ready to submit my application. I had been thinking about it for 2 years and thought it's now or never. My husband has dual I...

Re: 500 Britons become Cypriots in the shadow of a hard Brexit
I applied for Cyprus citizenship in August last year. I had already noted what I thought would be required from this link here: http://www.moi.gov.cy/moi/crmd/crmd.nsf/All/F03BEB8DF3591BC1C2257D2C00453383?OpenDocument There is a link at the end to the application form which is in English. I only had...

Re: Naturalisation in Cyprus
I also live in a village that is out of the municipality.
For you, assuming you live in Paphos it must be Paphos Town Hall.
Certainly immigration couldn’t help me at all and I did get the right advice, person and forms from Limassol Town Hall.

I applied in August last year. Husband didn’t bother, he’s dual Brit/Irish.
I put a long post on another forum about my experience so I’ll see if I can find it and post it here.

List here for contacts at CRMD in Nicosia.
Scroll down to the MEU2 section.
You’ll need patience when you call them.

Re: Latest from the High Commissioner
There was a really helpful post by Penny Purple in the comments section of this letter in the Cyprus Mail from Sunday that explains the difference between MEU1 & MEU3 and why anyone who has been here 5+ years should apply. https://cyprus-mail.com/2019/03/03/we-expats-should-be-thanking-the-cypru...

I was told that there is no language test but that they do check your knowledge on presidents, past and present, Cypriot culture, history, the meaning of significant public holidays etc.

Re: Cypriot Passport?
I applied for Cyprus citizenship in August last year after being here 14.5 at the time. I initially asked at Limassol Immigration in March and they directed me to Limassol Town Hall. A very nice lady at the Town Hall gave me the forms and lots of help. I saw the same lady in August when I made my ap...

Re: Brexit Update
Both MEU1 & 3 were mentioned and at the very least folks should have the 1. If someone qualifies for the 3 then it makes sense to obtain it. More info in the link here, plus it clearly states that if someone has neither, they should obtain one or the other. This means those with old brown ARC ho...
