Re: Good news for photo-voltaic electricity producer in CY

Our home in the UK has battery storage, plus PV panels. During the winter months, we draw off the grid between 2am and 5am to fully charge the battery, at around 13pence per Kwh. Then, at peak times, when the grid is under strain, we export back to the grid at 28pence per Kwh. When the clocks change...

Re: Leaving house to return to UK and preventing mould

We have LG Invertor units, fitted and serviced by Greenair, and they are super efficient, as long as you keep the air filter on the top clean, which we do. They were last seviced in November, and it was amazing just how much dirt was washed out.

Leaving house to return to UK and preventing mould

For the last two years we have returned to the UK for 10 weeks during Jan, Feb and early March, only to return with mould on the ceilings of the two bedrooms which receive minimum sun and a high area in our hall. This year, we set all of our 5 air con units on heat, at 18c and, thanks to our solar p...

Re: Pedal cyclists.

I got it off Amazon UK on Amazon Prime day a couple of years ago. However, Ride Easy in Paphos, Tel. No +357 26 220803 have had them in. There is also a Garmin shop in Limassol and they have them in stock for €199.99, which is only a bit more than amazon prices https://www.garmincyprus.com/?s=varia+...

Re: Pedal cyclists.

Yes we do have to wear helmets. Also, according to the new law we are supposed to have lights on, even during daylight hours. I have a Garmin back light. It has a bluetooth connection to my phone, which is in a phone holder on my handle bars. Ican see what is behind me on the phone screen. It has im...

Re: 2025 ROAD TAX RENEWAL

All done. The one hear we left it late, we missed the deadline by a day, and it was the first year they didn't extend the deadline, so we ended up paying more.. Think it was on the advise of Emgee, on CL, who always left it to the last minute.

Merry Christmas Max. Lovely pictures. A couple of summers ago, I had loads of plant cuttings next to the house. Our house wall was full of baby praying mantis.

Re: Fast Post To Cyprus From UK

DHL deliver for Marks and Spencer UK to Cyprus and we only once have they not managed to find our house and I had to meet them at the church, by Olivios. They also delivered our passports. Marks deliveries usually only take 4 or 5 days. We've never used them (DHL) for personal items.

Re: Paphos Old Town At Night

Thanks Dominic. Your film inspired us to go and have a look for ourselves. Amazing how busy Paphos was, even on a Monday evening. We had planned a coffee at Second Cup, but it was so full we couldn't get a table.

Re: Photovoltaic & EAC

I can highly reccomend Greenair. Yannis, who was in charge of our instalation is university trained and, when I last met him, was lecturing part time at the university. They use the latest technology and optimisers to get the best out of your system, which some firms don't. They did all of the paper...

Thanks Trans Am for that information. She was a very valuable contribitor to Cyprus Living. Used to love reading her posts, especially on a Sunday when it seemed all the female contributers had had a glass too many. She probably won't remember me, but mention me to her and wish her well.

Many of you who were members of Cyprus Living, will remember a member called Gill Valaoritis, who owned the Curtain Workshop and was a very active contributor. Aristotelis was(or is) her husband. Last time I heard, she was back in the North East.

We got our flu jabs last week at our doctors. I felt a bit groggy for a couple of days, especially in the evenings but Rosemary was fine. Doctor advised us to leave it a month before getting our covid jabs.

Air con deep cleaning

Just had our air con units deep cleaned by Greenair. Very knowlegable engineer called Matteus who did a really clean job. We use our LG air con units for heating during the winter and we were getting black soot coming out of the unit we use most. They are now spotless inside and running again like n...
