Re: Airport Road

Thanks Dominic. I will. When I came out of hospital in January I had no intention of cycling or walking the Wales Coast Path. However, it has been brilliant and I am really enjoying my new found fitness. I will certainly put photos of my rides round Anarita and Mandria on the main site, and start to...

Re: Airport Road

Yes, I did it on Sunday. 200 yards on the road in Rhos on Sea still. It was very windy so I walked that bit. Then cycle path all the way to Prestatyn, to the end of the prom there. There is a new bridge over the river at Rhyl, so no need to go on the road there, and no need to cross on the blue brid...

Re: Christmas Lunch

Some people go to one of the hotels for Christmas lunch. I am sure someone on here will recommend one. We always eat at home. Some neighbours took a Christmas picnic up into the mountains and thoroughly enjoyed it. For our first few Christmas's in Cyprus, we had all our neighbours round. It was orga...

Buying from a registered estate agent is no guarantee either, We followed that advise and it went completely pear shaped. Our agent was Lord Briano from peter Stephenson Estate Agents.

Re: Airport Road

I have been out on my bike here in Wales this afternoon. Cycled from our house to Point of Ayr and then on to Mostyn, and back to Prestatyn where Rosemary picked me up. Did 33 miles but the wind was blowing me in the right direction. We are back in Cyprus in three weeks, so I would like to get the w...

Re: Airport Road

I haven't been out on my bike yet in Cyprus, but I have bought some hi vis clothing for when I do. I only intend to use quiet roads and first will explore the numerous tracks around Mandria. I want to see if I can find a way of cycling to the harbour without going on the main road, by using the trac...

Re: Easyjet flights available for easter 2018 from tomorrow.

Seats available, as RattyPatty said, to 24th June. We have just booked our Easter going back to Manchester and our coming out in May, but not our going back at the end of June, which we will do next Wednesday, along with our coming out at the end of August or beginning of September. Todays bookings,...

Re: easyJet - Inside the Cockpit

It seems to me that it depends on the time of day as to how many ads you get. We watch Corrie at lunchtime and usually only have to sit through one ad. That is on the hub in the UK. In Cyprus, on our clearstream box, no ads.

Re: Lidl Garden vac bags

Our garden vac bag failed because we stored it in our outside plastic cupboard and the heat got to it and it disintegrated. Ours was one from Home Centre and the newer models had a completely different connector. We now keep our bag indoors.

Re: British tourists offered 88 euro cents for £1 in Europe, one year on from Brexit vote

We use our zero bank account and credit cards (Santander) for drawing money and spending in Cyprus. Used to use the mentioned kiosks, but having really bad fake ciggies sold by one of them, the one by cydive, would now not go near them. Santander are advertising a fee free credit card on their websi...

Re: The Abandoned Hospital at Amiantos Asbestos Mines

I would be very wary about visiting anywhere that has asbestos waste. In Rochdale we had Turners Asbestos factory. People who were not exposed to high levels of asbestos died from asbestosis. eg people who worked in the offices and even people who did not even work at the factory. I will probably be...

Re: New Paphos walkway opened.. CYWeekly)

Have not been in the dark yet, but the old lighting was awful and I cannot see how this will be any better. There are lots of stretches where there has been no improvement to the lighting. They are supposed to be lighting the whole path from Penelope's Church to Paphos. There were sections when I la...

Re: Paphos Life

A real pity Bolton are going through difficult times. One of those clubs I have seen in both the top and bottom tiers of the league playing Liverpool, who are my team and Rochdale who became my adopted team. I remember one memorable night at Burnden Park, Peter Thompson's testimonial, just after Liv...

All they have done is concreted parts which were rough gravel, mainly the SODAP stretch and also bits in front of the Imperial and Alexander the Great Hotels. They have also put in lighting, not at ground level but slightly higher on white concrete pillars. Also, white concrete seating, which, no do...

Central heating on tonight. Was down to 17c inside earlier, so had to put heat on for a couple of hours. Weather supposed to improve a little bit tomorrow. Still showery and windy here in North Wales. Rode my new ebike back from the showroom this afternoon. I had tried a fold up ebike before coming ...

Over 20c difference now in temperature between Paphos and North Wales. I am missing my early morning walks, but even last Sunday, it was getting hot around 6:30am and is much hotter now. Hope you are all coping with the humidity. It was beginning to get humid on Monday and the sea was not as clear a...
