Re: Speed cameras
No, they are doing everyone. Just be careful. Locals are not encroaching the white line anymore. We now avoid making a right turn at traffic lights (those near Lidl) as we were flashed by the camera before they came fully operational, as we were in the crown of the road, waiting to turn right, when ...

Keeping oool
Today, the hottest day of the year so far, we have run our aircon throughout the house (a 3 bedroom bungalow with a large lounge and dining room) and used, with assistance from our pv panels, 35.2Kwh of electric through our eac meter. Cost, at €0.05 per Kwh through net metering, €1.76. We've got vis...

Re: Firefighting aircraft shortage... good article CM
Trev, glad to see you are safe after the fire. We were thinking of all you hillbillies. We have visitors at the moment. Yesterday we went to Ladies Mile and it was 37c, but pleasant with a seabreeze. Today, in Anarita, 39c on the car thermometer when we went down to the supermarket at Mandria at 4pm...

Photo Lady now lives near Lancaster, in the UK, so has no reason to post regularly. Thought about her the other day when we went to Ladies Mile, as she once got very stuck in her car crossing the salt lake to the beach, which is why we are always very careful.

Re: Good PV results even in these extreme temperatures...
I'm not an electrician, but out of interest I monitor our usage. Our PV installation never trips out when there is a powercut. I am sure if it did, Greenair would find out why, speak to Christos, the owner. I wonder if it could be a sudden surge when your electric supply is restored that trips your ...

Re: fire
Thinking of all you hillbillies who live in this area. Hope and pray you are all safe. Rosemary read in local news online that several villages and isolated houses had been evacuated. We've been to Ladies Mile today and when we left at 6pm, could see the smoke drifting over the foothills behind Lima...

Re: Good PV results even in these extreme temperatures...
Kansas, when our invertor was disconnecting from the grid, it was nothing to do with Greenair. They came and inspected it, and nothing was wrong. It was only when we got emails from Solar Edge that there was a fault in our voltage that was causing the problem that we contacted EAC and they monitored...

Re: Good PV results even in these extreme temperatures...
Just to add, when we had the emails from solar edge, saying there was a fault, I notified EAC by phone, on their report a fault or lack of supply number. That particular night, we had a power cut, but I was outside when the power went off. It coincided with a huge flash in the sky, not lightening. I...

Re: Good PV results even in these extreme temperatures...
We, and our neighbours, have not had any problems recently with EAC voltage. However, around a year ago we did, with one and two hour periods when we were producing electric as it was sunny, but not exporting to the grid. We, and all of our neighbours got messages from Solar Edge about this fault an...

Re: Devil
RIP Devil. I always read his posts, but, like many, did not understand the science behind some of them. A very clever man who will be missed both here and on Steve's Eastern Forum. Thanks Steve for posting the video and links. Dominic, perhaps some of Devils posts from Cyprus Living and the Eastern ...

Max, one day later and a perfect day for solar production. Solar edge graph a perfect upwards and downwards curve. Sky not perfectly clear yet and we did not reach our peak of 5kw. Peak production 1:15pm at 4.6kw. PV panels probably dusty from last nights light rain. Today's production, 36.4kwh. In ...

Re: Very hot the next days...
Very strange day today in Anarita. Cloud cover all day and we only made 7.33kwh on our pv system, compared to 18.3kwh in Wales. (only the second time we have made more in Wales than Cyprus) We have also had very light rain from lunchtime onwards, just a constant few spots, which is very unusual for ...

In Cycleband, now Igora, Greenalls gin, I think it is around 11 or 12 euros per litre. It is slightly cheaper than the Gordons white bottle. I'll let you know next time we go. Whitley Neil rhubarb and ginger, in a 70cl bottle, with a free gin glass, is 20.85 euros. Igora also had Majorca gin, Palmbr...

Exactly Trev. Luckily, we didn't have much money in our BOC account at the time of the haircut, but if it had been a few years earlier, when we were paying for our house, we would have been affected.

Lets hope they get full compensation. It affected a few people who had proceeds from house sales taken, before they were transferred to the UK.

Re: MUKW Bio Metric application
We did the original yellow slip, MEU1 ourselves. However, this time we have gone through an agent, partly because documents required seem to be changing. We now need repatriation insurance, which we got through Atlantic. We're using Peter Savvas. Luckily our marriage certificate had been Apostilised...
