Re: Cyprus health service
I too hope that your wife recovers soon because I know you have problems as well. But with regards to wondering what would have happened in the UK it seems she may either have had to wait hours for an ambulance, or wait in one outside the Hospital because they were too busy.. They are quoting waiti...

Re: Transferring Ownership
You might be able to go to Customs and get a certificate. We bought a car over duty free. When the ten year rule was changed, we went to Customs with the log book and got the usual bits of stamped paper. I can't remember whether they annotated the log book at customs to say it was exempt or whether ...

Re: EAC
I have never come across bad manners or racist behaviour in EAC. I am not disputing it exists though. There was/is an older man in the Post office who works front desk who regularly ignores foreigners or deliberately sends people to the wrong desk! I have been victim to this and also an observer. I ...

Hope our experience helps. When we substantially extended our property we where informed after it was done that the existing title deeds, which we had, where no longer valid and we had to apply for new ones. It took us 8 years to get the new ones. my neighbour has added a pool and is still trying to w...

Re: UKCA to close by Xmas
We used to be members but stopped going because of the attitude of some who thought they owned the place! When the ban on smoking indoors came into force they thought it didn't apply to them. They used a back room, which was OK but the door was constantly left open! I am extremely sensitive to tobac...

Re: Probate Costs?
Since tbere is no inheritance tax in Cyprus and all tbat old faff about putting cars in bondage is abolished. I am not sure why there should be any more than usual lawyers fees. I lost MOH, last year and am still waiting for our house and the car to come out of probate. I have been quoted normal fee...

Re: Domicile in Cyprus
I can tell you, when my other half passed away, for the benefit of inhertiance tax in UK, he was domiciled in Cyprus. Since there is no inhertance tax in Cyprus that did not matter, but all the UK assets were deemed as counting towards the £325000, allowance given to a spouse, Consequently, my allow...

Re: Sat nav
I asked about Sat Nav years ago, because i was told i had to pay nearly €200 for Cyprus map. I asked why , when you have a map of Europe, and Cyprus is in the EU, why wasn't it included? The answer was, Politics! I was also told that they were aware of the anomaly and were trying to resolve it. Expe...

I heard of this last weekend and sent a PM to MAX on Monday asking if he had any info. Max is looking into it but has not yet replied as to its validity. I understand there is a lot of push back over the 90% rule and understand it is to enable the EAC to get some money from customers. I have also b...

It was before Brexit but once they have been used, is there an import charge? They were away about a week. I am sure they would advise if you contact them.

What's most shocking is the number of dog attacks. Dog ownership is the thing I'd license. Well dogs are supposed to be licensed I pay for mine every year The irresponsible owners who don't license are probably the ones who don't train their dogs either .Like everything, very few laws are clamped d...

Re: Using a solicitor as an executor of a will.
We've done the same as Lincoln and have also added a codicil saying that we want our Wills executed according to English law. How does that work out in Cyprus? does anyone know if this has any legality over here? WHL Yes it does. You add a coficil to your will saying you wish for it to be regulated...

I know the OP has got fixed up but Gadjet House were the cheapest by a mile for similar cases. I got a complete cover front and back for €7. They reduced my sim card and got it all working and put the covers on! Very helpful! Public and Cyta, similar ones, were twice the price!
