Cover options for car insurance for the North

Does anyone know if you can get car insurance cover for just 3 months at the border?

Or is the time period restricted to either a month, or a year?

Thanks in advance.

Re: The Cats of St Theodosius

Thanks for the posting, Dominic. The church is quite close to us and we had never been there so we went to see it this morning. We noticed the cats first. One by one they came out to see us and the abandoned kitten was among the first. They were all very friendly and were quite happy to be stroked. ...

Resin bonded surface for driveway

We're thinking of having our small concrete driveway covered with a resin bonded surface. Before we make the decision we'd appreciate any feedback from anyone who has had it done.

Thanks in advance

Re: Healthy stuff at Lidl's, fair price..

I've just looked at the product information on the Eviva Orange juice we buy from Lidl. It says 100% natural orange juice.

Re: Is there anywhere like Latchi on the Eastern side?

We go to the eastern side twice a year. We stay in Larnaca sometimes and other times in Ayia Napa (off season). From Ayia Napa you can explore all of the seaside areas up to Famagusta, and there are some lovely beaches on the way. You can cross over the border easily to have lunch, and/or to do some...

Re: Looking for a 2 night break at Christmas

Thanks Dee. We've lived here for many years so we won't be going anywhere that's not been checked out. We've stayed in Lofou and Kakopetria in the past and are hopeful of finding somewhere new. Thanks for all the comments.

Looking for a 2 night break at Christmas

We'd like to book somewhere for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day nights and are looking for recommendations. We're not really fussed about Gala Night Dinner and Dances, and prefer somewhere small and cosy if possible, maybe in one of the villages. Ideally we would like the accommodation to either hav...

Re: Log fire

Try it out as soon as it's cool enough to do so. If you have any problems I'm sure your installer will come round to rectify them. Not everyone is out to rip you off. Thankfully, there are some decent people around.

We also go to Dr Yiannis Neophytou who took a biopsy and subsequently removed a growth from my OH's cheek. The scar has completely faded. Highly recommended.

Re: Thrips infestation on ficus

Thanks for your recommendation David. We visited the lady today. She was very helpful and sold us a mix to spray the ficus, and a small bottle of something to mix with a bucket of water and pour onto the roots. I'll use the root treatment first. Last night I sprayed with a very light mix of washing ...

Thrips infestation on ficus

I'm sure this topic has been covered before but perhaps there's new information available? We have a lovely healthy looking ficus, about 1.5M high, in a large pot. New leaves are forming daily so it doesn't appear to be too distressed. However, the dreaded thrips are attacking it and healthy leaves ...

Totally agree, JimX, and if you hadn't posted your comment I would have done so. It's very much up to the individual to do the research, discuss with their care provider, and decide for themselves.

Re: Flu Jabs..

We would also like to know the process as we will be getting the 'flu jabs too. We know it won't protect us from all strains of 'flu. Like Dee we have a lot of Vit C both as a supplement and in fruit and veg. However, some people are much more susceptible to getting 'flu than others. My mother was a...
