Hand held vacuum

Can anyone recommend a good, i.e. good suction and variety of tools, hand held vacuum cleaner that they've purchased locally. Cordless would be good, but equally happy with plug in. Our GTech failed after 3 months......

Thanks

Re: Chemist Direct UK

Can we PLEASE stop the bickering about Brexit? It is what it is and we have to deal with it. I've always found this site so helpful and informative but it's now becoming boring when the Brexit subject is so frequently raised and personal attacks appear to be on the increase IMHO.

Re: Dexascan - Mr G Vorkas Radiology

Thank you, Dee and Galexinda.

He provided a report in English when I went to him privately, so I expect he does the same for those in Gesy.

Dexascan - Mr G Vorkas Radiology

Can anyone advise me if Mr Vorkas is in GESY? If so, do you know if he still types out his reports in English for you to collect?

Thanks

Re: Pneumonia “jab”

In November 2020 I went to Dr Dora of the Blue Cross for a flu jab. While I was there I asked about the lifetime pneumonia vaccination. She confirmed that she had a small supply in and it would cost me €90.

Re: Another Question on Vaccinations

I now keep a couple of business sized cards in my wallet with my details written in large letters in permanent marker. Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, ID number. I hand one of these over to doctor, rheumy, etc. You'd be surprised how grateful they are when you do this, rather than have to reach ...

Replacing windows/doors with UPVC double glazing

A friend is considering replacing all her double glazed windows and sliding doors with sealed UPVC units. She wonders if it is worth all the expense and effort in a standard uninsulated 20 year old concrete Cyprus house with no central heating. The house has been subject to damp and mold for a numbe...

Re: Glasses...

There will be good and bad experiences in most places, but if they're prepared to put it right that's fine in my book. I have had a couple of problems with Elean in the 16 years we've been going to the shop in the old town, but they have been put right without question and in one case I was given fr...

Re: MY DIY project: solar air heater...

Well done with your project Max, and thanks for your reply. Our oil filled rads do use a lot of electricity but they are so cosy to sit next to, and we've built them into our budget. During the summer months they're small enough to put away in the loft. With the current snap of cold weather we'll be...

Re: MY DIY project: solar air heater...

Like many houses we've had mildew on walls, although not in cupboards, on leather goods too particularly in the early days when the house was still drying out. We have tried many things over the years - got rid of the gas heater in the early days, opened up the house every day, put heaters in the ba...

Tax Penalty

My wife has just received a notification of a tax penalty for late submission of her 2015 return. The original Declaration of Income form stated that it had to be completed and submitted no later than 30 April 2016. We have on file the relevant Tax Receipt and JCC payment slip both dated 31 March 20...

Re: Aches & pains....in Cyprus?

A friend of mine who had rheumatoid arthritis in her wrists moved to Cyprus because she felt that the warmer weather would alleviate her pain. She continued to suffer after she arrived in the Paphos area so visited her GP who told her that Cyprus was one of the worst places to live for RA sufferers ...
