Yes, you usually have to,prove that you have sufficient funds to support yourself. Yes, you must provide all documentation With a translation in English or Greek. If you go to the Immigration Dept they will give you a list of what you will need to bring with you and will give you an appointment date...

Re: Chlorakas in fear of armed gangs

It sounds a bit scary as the CY Mail in today's Sunday Mail.article mentions the number of young Syrian males who have arrived in Cyprus and are now classified as being Asylum seekers. They are all living in the village. It sounds as if the Govt should move them to more secure surroundings if they a...

Yes. they are getting much nearer now. It will be great when they have removed still more of the debris and can build the new access road to Kamares and to connect again with the road to Kili.

I'll believe you Lloyd, but I was perfectly happy with Windows 7! Never wanted to advance any further! I went to Computer SOS, who couldn't install Windows 10 on it.Said it was too slow. I was very strongly advised to buy this or that new windows Computer.. But I am mucb happier with my iPad and iPh...

Re: Coronavirus: No new cases, first time since March 10

Yes, the Govt , police (lets not forget them,) acted very well to ensure that the Cyprus lockdown has worked. Also track, trace and isolate system has worked very efficiently. But lets be fair, the island of Guernsey in the Channel Islands has also come through their lock down ver efficiently too. T...

Re: Communal Pools to remain CLOSED

Yes, Emgee, technically Lofos Jan isn't correct. But in practice many pools on complexes have notices up saying they are private and only for the use of people on the complex. These pools have been operating safely for years, without lifeguards, but with 'swim at your own risk as no lifeguard is pre...

Interesting photos as usual, Dominic. Which route did you take, as there is more than one? I was a passenger on one 4x4 trip from the valley below Kouklia across to Avdhimou, all on tracks which was quite challenging in places, but was very jnteresting. Also another route which takes in the old Roma...

Yes, and they all, including the Finance Minister are controllable by Dominic Cummings who also forced the previous incumbent to resign. Cummings is all too powerful now.

Re: Communal Pools to remain CLOSED

Regarding swimming pools on Complexes. Cyprus current interpretation of this law Is ridiculous. The law as it stands is an ASS. Why on earth can't the House of Representatives vote to amend this law! Especially as people who own properties on a complex must pay their dues. Part of those surely must ...

Unfortunately, Boris isn't showing himself to be very capable of his high office either. He made a Horlicks of being Foreign Minister, but ends up becoming PM... thanks to Cummings.. Who is now in trouble for breaking the lock down provisions by deciding to drive his family to his parents home in Co...

Re: Heat wave AC?

I bought 3 new Pitsos invertor aircons last year, for the large open plan living space, plus the 2 bedrooms. I took their advice as to the correct sizes ;BTU's-needed for each. They have all performed brilliantly through the recent heatwave. They are cheaper than Samsung which I had planned to buy. ...

Re: 14 Day Quarantine for UK is coming, apparently...

Is Boris's main instinct to somehow cling to power as everything unravels around him? What he and his main advisor Mr Cummings, plus his inexperienced , but probably well meaning ministers have done to the British people and to the UK's economy by mishandling the Covid 19 outbreak is appalling. He h...

Is this about to be another attempt by No 10 to issue another confusing statement designed as much to stop any hope of British airlines from reopening by making it impossible for anyone from other countries to visit Britain for at least this summer? This comes at a time when many European countries ...

Re: UPDATE: Outdoor public pools are open - ? communal pools

The whole business of communal pools being public is a nonsense. They aren't open to the public, but only to those with property inside the complex and who pay their communal charges.
Is this mainly propagated by Paphos Mayor, or is this an island wide law?
