But why can’t Cafe Nero use normal china cups, plates and glasses? Shouldn’t be too difficult if they have or(invest) in a dishwasher! That should both reduce the amount of waste they create and be much better for the planet.

Maybe stone facing on walls which are visible from the road, rather than building in solid stone would be a solution?

Some of them at least have recently be shown on UK TV. Well dressed, reasonable command of English. All very pleased to have made it to the UK at last! Probably improved their English while living at Dhekelia, British Army Base.!

Re: Work underway to create Paphos’ biggest urban park

This land is adjacent to Moutallos which was a Turkish Cypriot area prior to 1975 when many of the population fled, or disappeared. There is a large abandoned Turkish cemetery not very faraway. I wonder who the land here belongs to now? Over the years the area behind “Papa’s” has deteriorated, it lo...

I am not in favour of building a 3rd runway at Heathrow. But this latest plan to disrupt the lives of ordinary people by this extremists group is illegal and potentially very dangerous. The police should be supported in their duty to apprehend and charge of anyone caught flying a drone of any type t...

Re: Estate agents & documentation required.

Chaddy,
Maybe you could ask a couple of estate agents to come and value your apartment first? An estate agent will also give you an idea of prices generally in your area.

Re: Law allows Brits to live in Cyprus in case of no deal Brexit

No doubt we will hear from immigration if we need to apply for the MEU 2 form ( residence permit for non EU citizens) to live in Cyprus. Personally, hope not having been through all the rigmarole recently to get my MEU3! Anyway, the UK is in a state of great uncertainty, especially if Boris wins.......

Re: Paphos marina study to look at option to include cruise ship facilities

Hopefully this won’t happen! There is a perfectly good cruise terminal at Limassol as posted before. Paphos can manage without one. As we know the smaller cruise ships anchor off shore at Paphos.

Re: Dangerous Tala complex still in place despite demolition order

The need for a speedy demolition to start is obviously urgent now But if it costs half a million who is going to pay for the demolition? The developer, the local authorities, the Govt?

I hope for the sake of all Kamares residents that the demolition will be complete before the first rains come.

Re: Estate agents & documentation required.

We used Ruth Hadfield Hadjiiannou and Cyprus101.com. We found both lawyer and estate agent were very good. It was relatively easy to sell my villa last year. You do need to have all your paperwork available and in good order. It can be more expensive to sell property here as estate agents usually ta...

Re: Mosaic v liners

The pool which we had (8x4m) was properly constructed with tied in rebars to both the base and the walls to form a sturdy shell. Then concrete was poured into the frame created. Left to harden and is the term ‘cure’? It was then tiled with Mosaic tiles. It looked very attractive, and unlike a lined ...

Re: Turkey sending tanks ?

Once again the Govt here is playing with fire! There is no way that S Cyprus can take on Turkey with its crack forces. People here tend to forget that the oil belongs to both the Greek and Turkish Cypriots. Though it is wrong if Turkey is sending these weapons to Cyprus. Its probably an attempt at s...

A pity that it is so far away from Paphos town. Though it is still technically still in Paphos District. But Paphos District looks on a map of the Island to cover the largest land area.

No doubt Pachyammos too far away for most people to be worth going there for a swim!

More shabby treatment dished out by local anti- dog culture govt officers. Why can’t they allocate the extreme ends of sandy public beaches for dogs and their owners? There just isn’t the problem with hygiene that they seem to think. Provided that dog owners consciensely pick up any mess left by the...

Delays in air traffic over German and Austrian airspace

I’m presently sitting waiting to leave Paphos Airport. Our EJ flight is delayed due to severe thunderstorms over Germany and Austria, so flight restrictions are in place. We are currently over an hour late in leaving. Our flights’ Captain made the announcement when all on board. So anyone flying to ...
