Also, the UK aren't following the manufacturers instructions regarding the timing of the 2nd shot given to patients taking the vaccine.

Re: How is Cyprus Doing With the Vaccine Roll Out ?
Boycott. There are warnings to ignore peddlers of anti vaccine theories which is what you are doing.. I for one intend to be vaccinated against Covid 19, as I see the vaccine as the best way out of this pandemic. If they give potentially good immunity from getting this nasty virus which is life threa...

With my old bones my medical advice is to walk in the middle of the day at present when the temperature is at its highest, even better if it’s sunny..

Larnaca Airport still has flights arriving and departing on a daily basis. There also seems to be a BA flight to LHR most days.So it must be open!
Paphos seems to be dormant, but with an occasional Ryanair flight to somewhere in Europe.

Yes, the Old Post Office moved from its temporary lodging near the Agapinoros Hotel back to its old home nearly a year ago. It is certainly open, as my PO box is there, I visit it every week! The old Colonial house it is part of, has been renovate and repainted.

Re: Garage Door
I did have an up and over garage door to my garage, it was electrically operated, but in fact it could be lifted manually as well. Only thing is that it was obtained and installed by Leptos . Not sure where they got it from. But it could have been from Nicosia, it wasn't metal, more a synthetic ligh...

If you do use wood for external doors or windows, you need to use a seasoned hardwood. At my previous house we had a front door made of Iroko, a hardwood from the far east- rather like teak. With reasonable care it lasted for all the 19 years that I lived there and was still in good condition when I...

Last night I read a news item on 'In Cyprus', that said Cyprus had signed a big order for Pfizer jab. So they placed 2 big orders in a short space of time! The article also said that with plenty of vaccine they hoped to be able to vaccinate the whole population here by Sept 21. Actually if they are ...

I've recently had 2 MRI's at Dr Vorkas Radiotherapy Centre. They have all the necessary equipment to perform x-rays to MRI's. Also everything in between. Well recommended.

Re: February 15 is the deadline for import of cars from UK under pre-Brexit rules
Yes, I seem to remember the problems with getting a car out of bond. Instead of buying a new car in UK and having it shipped out here, we decided to buy our new cars from dealers in Paphos.Though we later discovered that if selling a duty free car, we still had to pay back duty charges pro rata, dep...

You could try Kasinos Rolex in Paphos. When I lived in my previous house in Kamares, this company fitted a new motor and associated parts to my electric garage door. Their phone no is:26 951212. Their shop is located near to the Polis Rd. If you remember where the Dulux Paint shop used to be, they w...

Re: Three nine storey buildings to be built near Aquamare Hotel
Very sad to hear this. So, who is intended to live in these high rise buildings? Are they going to be residential or rented to tourists? I've said this before, Limassol and Paphos are very different. Limassol is a working, business oriented town with a multinational work force. It also has a tourism...

Re: How is Cyprus Doing With the Vaccine Roll Out ?
HIC, you probably don't understand. Comparing the social isolation during Covid to conditions in WW11 is a strange comparison. All my family did their bit for the war effort, be it in the armed services, or in one-of the support services that were also essential, as most adults did.But in all these ...

Thanks Dominic, Yes, I remember it too when it was just the rough track that Youla mentioned. We always took it very slowly, though I suppose the trade off was that having to drive slowly gave you more time to enjoy the view, particularly the beautiful cedar trees. Drivers often said Hallo to each o...
