Re: audi sat nav maps

We have full Cyprus maps, but that may vary buy model and model year. Listening to the SatNav lady with some of the place names is quite entertaining.

Re: ONLINE BANKING

Hellenic app is fine, not as good as some of the U.K. ones, Barclays in particular, but better than Alpha bank app.

Re: ELLADOS AVENUE WORKS - DIVERSIONS FROM MONDAY 30 AUGUST

Trev, we just went back the opposite way to the traffic, headed towards Chloraka, turned right on to the Tala road, the right again to come out at the Abbeygate offices and then back kn track U.K. Mesolithic as usual. Added about 4 mins to our journey back to Polemi.

Re: Cheap courier services

Would recommend eshopwedrop all day long, been using them for a couple of years. With the German drop off location they did have a few issues when they moved to new premises a few months ago, but no issues since.

Re: Flying from Paphos to UK - airport shambles?

In the big picture a couple of hours isn't too bad in most busy airports. I've never found Paphos that bad but I suppose different people have different tolerance levels. Except when you don't get on your flight home through no fault of your own, as happened with the 2 ladies travelling back with e...

Re: Flying from Paphos to UK - airport shambles?

I travelled from Paphos last night. I arrived at the airport at 19:15 and was sat down by the Easyjet main departures gate 3 at 20:05 which I consider to be reasonable. So, how come we were ten minutes after you and it took us an hour longer? Did you not have suitcases? JB, yes, I had both checked ...

I travelled from Paphos last night. I arrived at the airport at 19:15 and was sat down by the Easyjet main departures gate 3 at 20:05 which I consider to be reasonable. However, it was carnage in the departure hall and I can well imagine how some people would have been very intimidated/ panicked by ...

Just seen it in Alpha Mega in town, they also had the larger sized bottles in Papantoniou only a couple of weeks ago. It’s good stuff.

Re: Compulsory card payment change worries small businesses

I know about the tokens WHL, I was making a nerd joke🤓. I got one, and the ones Rock Fm had to raise charity funds for few months ago which never work in Lidl for me. Bulk of our shopping is at Alpha Mega so no issues there😂

Re: Compulsory card payment change worries small businesses

Faffing around with cash ? Huh ! The other day I went into paps , got stuck behind a guy faffing around with his phone to find his safe pass and then the girl checking could not read it because it had come up too small ! Then on the checkout a different guy couldn't make his phone or the app or wha...

Trev, it’s beyond the petrol station , I have a clear line of sight from here. It’s on the valley area on the left hand side of the main road heading towards Polis, roughly in line with the supermarket as I look across towards Stroumbi. I’ll send you a pic.

Re: Compulsory card payment change worries small businesses

Ams, You can use ApplePay on an Apple watch, or iPhone with any shop that has a contactless card payment device. I can’t remember the last time I used a physical card here since I started using Apple. Most U.K. cards now support ApplePay. Here you can add Hellenic abd BoC cards totiur virtual wallet...

Re: Compulsory card payment change worries small businesses

For me, personally I’m more likely to spend in a local / smaller shop as its saves faffing around with cash when I can just pay with my watch. Also where we take our dog for grooming has now got one of the Sumup card payment systems, absolute doddle to use, you can an emailed receipt and it’s a one ...

Re: Leaf blowers?

The trouble once the bag splits it is almost impossible to get a replacement, still if you buy a cheapo it's not much dearer to just replace the machine. Coincidentally I bought a new blower / Vac from Paphos Home Market this morning, the guy in the tool section tells me he has a contact in Geroski...

Cactus, As Les Bean said above, if you are in Cyprus you can use your little blue vaccination certificate that the vaccination team gave you on your first jab and updated with your second. That’s what we use, the originals are kept safe and home and we have laminated copies when out and about. THe E...

Our accountant told me the other day, rightly or wrongly, that if your (Cypriot) bank catch you buying Bitcoin with your account they will close your account down straight away. Not sure about that one, our accountant has bought and sold Bitcoin and I’m pretty certain we’d have heard pretty quickly...

Bizarre coincidence. I was in the charity shop in Polemi one day last week and noticed they have been donated a chimney sweep brush. So there’s always the DIY option.
