Re: travel insurance for 90 days
I am with ATLANTIC insurance company in Pathos. When not in Cyprus they allow you to suspend your insurance for the time not used. We live in the UK This also allows them to give a rebate for unused time. Have been with them for last 15 years. Also We are aged as well. Definitely aged 😂😂. See you so...

Re: Bill to prevent solar panel shutdowns ‘accepted in principle’ by state agencies
Not sure I have the technical nous to fully understand this but…. Surely the article itself states the real issue - “the root cause is Cyprus being isolated…” Call me stupid but isn’t that the point of this great undersea connector project that’s supposed to be happening? This option sounds like mes...

Re: EAC produces misleading figures to back up curtailments
I think that residential battery scsheme must have been filed with the quote from some ministry bod a few years ago after a water shortage period along the lines of ‘Cyprus will never again be wholly dependent on rainfall”. Anybody know of the destroyed desalination plant for Paphos has been reinst...

Re: EAC produces misleading figures to back up curtailments
Instead of cutting the (too much) electricity made by solar panels, why don't they cut the electricity made by dirty fuel oil at the power stations. You know, the oil that we pay a fine to the EU, and it is on all our bills for using it.. :-( That’s pretty much the point of the problem Trevor. The ...

Subjective or course, but in my opinion yes. But that would depend on what you’re learning to an extent. Regardless of of what device you’re using, if you’re are taking a lesson about how to use that device for example, it could be a bit awkward trying to follow an instructional video and do what it...

The crazy thing is that I bet there are many people who would willingly pay a a reasonable price for a global package from someone like Sky, TNT, ,etc etc but all the media companies, sports clubs and leagues etc etc have tied themselves into so many knots with various exclusivity deals, broadcast r...

Re: indoor swimming pool
I looked online at Minthis. 900 euros for 3 months is a bit much just for swimming, which is what is needed. I love the spa there though, has to be said. When previous posters mentioned Alex, did they mean Alexander The Great? Sadie, how much does Evelthon cost, if you don't mind me asking? For jus...

Bought? Not that I’m aware of. The new presenter of the late morning show, Kostas, started when the new schedule launched last month. Rock FM has not always been mostly British presenters - in the past the Transmission show was presented by DJ Antonis and Drive Time by DJ Stephanie. They also now co...

They have also changed their music as well as the schedule. Previously it was a mix of old and new music across a range of music types. Now it’s primarily soft rock greatest hits. This I’m told is a conscious decision - I have a friend who works there. I’ve given feedback that it’s too much of one m...

Re: Guiding emergency vehicles to the house.
I’m sorry but it is not BS. On 22nd October, 2023, my wife broke her hip, nearly died and - despite me sending the correct Pin - and with my Cypriot landlord later speaking to 112 in Greek - they could not find our house. A second ambulance was dispatched and we could see them both driving around t...

Thanks to all for your contributions. We sents a Pin location to an ambulance but they said their gps wasn’t working. It works for deliveries but not for them apparently. That sounds like BS to me. Earlier this summer one of my neighbours collapsed and I had to call for an ambulance. I rang the amb...

jeba That may be so, but it won't cause gastrointestinal ulcerations, as posted by you. I always thought that long term use of omeprazole, was frowned upon. It very definitely can. I was mistakenly prescribed some at new year to relieve inflammation of a tendon. It took only 3 tablets to trigger a ...
