Re: Flat Roof Sealant

Also recommend hyperdesmo, we used all on the flat roof areas on the complex where we have our apartment. Available from Charalambous Pafou the shop on the main road through Kissonerga. You have to plan your installation quite carefully though as once opened you’ve got 24 hours, 48 if you’re lucky, ...

Travelling Through Manchester Airport

Does anybody have any recommendations for a Taxi service serving Manchester Airport? It's for my Mum who's been let down a few times on recent round trips out to stay with us and ideally needs somebody who can offer a meet and greet service when she flies back into Manchester from visiting us and th...

Re: Road/circulation tax on a double cab?

I second the recommendation of HIC regarding Alison and Neil at ANW, they were great with the import of our new car over the summer. Getting the vehicle here before the ever moving Brexit date will be key as if it’s coming form a country outside the EU, Customs & Excise will slap VAT on the bill as ...

Re: Printer

Got a HP3830 all in one form Bionic for €70 earlier this year. Very happy with it, much better than the canon Pixma it replaced, good on ink and cartridges decent value from Cartridge World. Good WiFi printing from iPad as well.

Sadie, I’m no expert but I use this on our boundary walls and have been very happy with it.

Yes it’s an eyesore at the moment, but most things are during construction. If it’s finished to the same design as the original proposal, I think it will look good.

Re: Ministry publishes ‘no deal’ Brexit guide for Britons living in Cyprus

All seems pretty straightforward. As long as you’re papers are in order, you’re fine and there’s still time to apply for current forms after 31/10. They seem to be putting both MEU1 and 3 under the broad heading of Residence Documents and under the new system from 2021 simplifying things a little by...

My wife saw a bee eater for the first time yesterday too, when we were driving up the Ezousa Valley.
That’s a surprise Dominic, there have been lots of them around our place for about 2 weeks now, their very distinctive sound helps to spot them.

Re: Meu1. No s1 and gesy

Below UK retirement age (no S1) with MEU1 plus social insurance contributions = GESY application valid. A dependant of someone meeting these criteria should also be ok. We have medical insurance through Status Insurance, only ever made one claim but dealt with and lid out with no issues.

We have used Nufa LTD - on the main road just before Paphos Mall, close to Ginos Pizza and more or less opposite Begonia Garden Centre for iPhone battery replacement and replacement of a broken iPad Pro screen. Both jobs done quickly and very happy with the results.

Re: Death on Cyprus - urban roads three times higher than EU average

Kay, my wife, who is now starting drive again after a gap of many, many years, is the same as you on the road out of the village. Though to be controversial, I cannot for the life of me see why the limit is 50 all the way up to the main road in the first place. Once you get pat the last few houses o...

6 months notice is not uncommon these days, that’s my wife’s notice period, mine was 3 months but then I’m much less important! 😂 I don’t know this Doctor but is possible she was near to retirement age but in some way forced to sign up to GESY? It could also be that she’s just had some news regardin...

Re: Cordless vacuum cleaners ...

Bought a Dyson V8 direct from Dyson about 18 months ago. Really good and very versatile. Could perhaps do with a bigger dust container but they addressed that in later models. Filters needs a rinse in running water once a month and I also disassemble the main unit at the same time and give that a br...
