Re: Is Cypus going to be affected by the middle east war ??
People on some other media are very quick to blame the UK military presence in Cyprus. Perhaps they should remember this: https://www.usafe.af.mil/News/Article-Display/Article/4047731/435th-crss-advises-expansion-of-andreas-papandreou-air-base/ https://in-cyprus.philenews.com/local/cyprus-us-defence...

Re: Feral cats again!
“don't hate cats, but they literally get up my nose!”
I’m sure they would speak very highly of you if they could .. How about you accept that you live on an island with many cats, maybe just get on with it? Perhaps you would like to change other things that have been here before you also?

Re: Airport positives
It’s usually within 2 rows of passengers seated next to a positive case that would be contacted. At present, most arrivals in to Cyprus are from Russia, which is also seeing a massive increase in Covid cases recently. The airport test results come quite fast, but the positives would have been in the...

Re: Profiteering or making up lost ground?
I overheard a waiter in a village taverna near the airport say to a customer that the local Cyprus house wine had gone up in price due to the Suez blockage…. He hadn’t thought that one through.

The ETIAS scheme comes in to play soon. This information will be shared with all European countries, not just Schengen countries. UK passport holders will need to apply for ETIAS approval by 2022. It’s similar to a US ESTA. https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/etias/ https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/new...

Re: More COVID measures - partial lockdown with no limits on movement within province.
The government have to weight up practicalities with risk. After 72 hours you could have picked up the virus. After 7 days you could have picked up the virus. There is more chance of testing positive 7 days after your last test than 3 days, for sure, but the difference in probability isn't huge. So...

What I have seen several times is airport staff in Moscow ask for proof of residency to Russians travelling to Cyprus for extended periods. No reason to doubt that British citizens may be asked to do the same at the departure airport as third country nationals especially if you only have a one way t...

Sad. It won’t be the only Cypriot airline to fold this year though it looks like.

Three European airlines have gone bankrupt this month alone. Two of which were very viable on paper.

I’d start with the local Mukhtar. In some areas, the Mukhtars approval is needed to let out a property. The CTO is worth a shot too.
