Re: When do you see tourism restarting?

Yioula I think you are correct - We hardly have any police in our area now due to all of the cutbacks - If there is an incident every police vehicle in the area attends to make it look like a good police presence but in reality there are hardly any around and never about if you needed one. But you o...

Re: When do you see tourism restarting?

The Cyprus Government seem to have this more in control than the UK Government, I ventured out today for essential supplies and could not believe what I was seeing, The majority of shops are closed, all pubs, clubs, gyms etc are closed but the number of people just wandering around in groups, famili...

WHL Exactly – Many of these Airline’s have the aircraft on huge Mortgages/Loans or whatever you want to call them and when they are grounded the bill does not get paid. It has already come to light today that the UK Banks have been warned that their behaviour is unacceptable for not trying to suppor...

Re: When do you see tourism restarting?

I would say that this year is a total write off for the tourist industry in general – The current UK lockdown was initially set to be reviewed at the end of May along with the many UK employees who have been Furloughed from Mid March to 31st May at which point a relaxing of lockdown would be discuss...

Well to be fair – Over the years Clarkson has probably made more statement’s that get up people’s Nose’s than the Daily mail ever has. A bit like the pot calling the kettle.

So Dominic - You reckon this bloke might be right after all ? The coronavirus is the result of the sin and malice between great powers but also the fault of humans in general, Morphou Bishop Neophytos has said. During his sermon last Sunday in Nikitari, which came to light on Friday, the bishop whil...

Austin 7 – Was there any need for such a vicious response ? Yale researchers have pinpointed a key reason why people are more likely to get sick and even die from flu during winter months: low humidity. Re: Stand and fight this Virus together

Yioula ---- Don’t be so hasty to criticise the actions of the public in the UK it could still happen in Cyprus yet – Human Nature is a strange thing. I spoke with a friend who has a bar in Paphos yesterday and although they are closed and currently have stock he is very concerned that some of his su...

Re: British woman returns to Cyprus, arrested for failing to pay old hotel bill

From https://travel.stackexchange.com

Basically, you owe the hotel a debt. If you fail to pay it, there are civil law procedures to deal with that. The only way this could turn into a crime is if you deliberately tried to avoid paying the bill. Then it would be fraud.17 Mar 2013

Re: British woman returns to Cyprus, arrested for failing to pay old hotel bill

It probably was a civil matter until she decided to leave the country and then turned it into a criminal matter - It would be hoped that they have confiscated her passport if they have let her out on bail
