Strange..... I was always led to believe from a certain resident of that area that Peyia was extremely popular as thousands of people had chosen it. So I'm surprised to read there are still thousands of empty properties
I can't understand why they would want to build more. It really makes no sense if they cannot sell the existing ones. And I don't think I would want another big project going ahead right above me either.

If there are that many unsold properties already it certainly does make no sense.

Hundreds might be correct but thousands?????? In 2011 Peyia had about 4000 inhabitants....

Louise, there was one paragraph in the article by Bejay Browne which said:
Papastylianou said that as there are currently already around 6,500 buildings in Peyia with 3,000 or so already lying empty, it was nonsensical to create more. He also questioned how these would then be rented or sold.
Sounds like a hell of a lot!
