Chrysochou lies nestled between Goudi and Polis, on the North West Coast of Cyprus. From the B7, where you will most likely have seen it, it is notable for the well preserved mosque that dominates its skyline. Nice photos again Dominic, specially from the mosque which was destroyed from the last earthquake 1996 as the minaret collapsed and was rebuilt after 2000...
The river Chrysochou can be very large in winter after heavy rain like 2012 when the main road towards Latchi was closed for some time. In the 80's was even in summer proper water running when one wanted to enter Polis via the side road, driving through the water. So I think it is a little spring, coming from the hilly area opposite the main road Paphos-Polis, appearing at this pipe and feeding the river. (your question about it)

One aspect of Chrysochou (and the previous Fasoula blog) villages, is that they seem to be missing essential features which are core to traditional Cypriot villages...

A shady central square, with seating, for meeting and chatting. A Coffee Shop. A kiosk mini market. A taverna or two. A Bar. The lack of such features basically leaves us with a pretty village, but a village without a communal heart and soul...

Both villages you mention are very small, and close to bigger settlements. It's the difference between reality and a tourist ideal.
