Way back in 2019 we reported on an area of Geroskipou which was going to be the site of a new Business DIstrict called the Neapolis. At the time we were interested in a necropolis that was hidden in the woods there. Now, in 2025 they appear to have started construction, so we took the drone down to see what was happening.

I wondered what it was going to look like, so thanks.

There is a rumour, with no evidence I can find, that this area contained an airdrome when under British rule.

On this screenshot of 1963 it looks like there was an airfield in the 50's just one km more South....

Before we bought, in 2004, whilst on holiday, we were taken round Paphos by a rep from a certain developer who advertises on buses. We were told, whilst driving up to Woolworth's roundabout (Debenhams and now Era) that all of the land on the right belonged to them and a new, modern city was going to be built. 21 years later and nothing has been built on this land.

They started doing the infrastructure, because if you drive there there are a few roads leading nowhere. On the other side there is a huge complex that has been half-built since before we moved here. Perhaps it's failure had some bearing on the development of the rest of the project?
