Paphos Life

We keep getting asked for updates on the renovation of the coastal path that runs between Paphos Castle and the Lighthouse Beach. So yesterday we buzzed the drone along the route to see how things are progressing.

Thanks for the update, Dominic! The best thing was your photo which shows that one end of the castle has been repaired ( except the top parapet). But oh dear, I hope that there are plans to repair the opposite end which looks as if it is very weak now.
The actual path is progressing, though they still seem to have yet to start the final part onto lighthouse beach itself. This after the path having been closed initially before last Christmas! I wonder if the fancy looking corner may be partly used for an outdoor gym. Perhaps similar to the one which was built near to the Aktibeach Hotel on the Chloraka part of the Coastal path. This gym is screened by shrubs from the path.
Time will tell for what purpose the little building under construction may be used for. I don't see the point of building a stepped, paved pathway onto the rocks which ends on a suicidal cliff? Or the purpose of the land reclamation close to the castle, agreeing with Dominic that the little ampitheatre there previously was quite attractive. Just hope this fairly short stretch of Coastal Path will be open before next Christmas!
