Recently the Mayor Of Paphos announced numerous contracts for improving the sea front and harbour area. The contracts were not only for the introduction of new facilities though. Some of the money was allocated for maintenance and upkeep of the existing facilities. It looks like this maintenance is already underway, because the area between the castle and the walkway to Lighthouse Beach has been closed for maintenance. I flew the drone up to have a closer look...

Thanks for the film footage. The drone coverage is fantastic. But I wonder what the Mayor is doing? We often walk this path down to Lighthouse beach. It is only a few years ago that the path was concreted from the harbour end by the castle and part stone or brick paved paved down to point where the path ran down hill and along the lighthouse beach close to the Archaeological site perimeter fence. I can understand the need or desire to pave the lower part too. It gets muddy in places after rainfall. But wonder why it actually needs redesigning close to the Castle area (which was already concreted). Its the way the fishermen go to get to their boats...
I would rather the money was spent on remedial work to the castle walls and the harbour walls which need attention. Unfortunately, I suspect the Mayor isn't interested in ancient heritage buildings.
