This is the first outing of our new drone! And what better place to take it than the abandoned village of Foinikas. We didn't film much before the clouds broke, but there is still a couple of minutes of decent footage to view.

I have a DJI Phantom 4 Pro and have taken several videos of Foinikakas from both sides of the reservoir. How did you access the village, last time we went we approached from the Nata bridge as the road from Anarita was flooded?
I've been looking at the Mavic Pro Zoom as well to replace the DJI Standard 3 I flew into the pool.

We used to walk to Foinikas often from the Nata bridge until the walkway collapsed after heavy rain. After the drought years in was easy to walk along the dry reservoir bed to get to it. Thanks for posting Dominic.

When we went about three months ago alot of the track from Nata bridge had been completely washed away and it was difficult to get past the cliff just before the track starts rising towards the village, it would be next to impossible to get through in a car..

We've been driving to and from Foinikas all year using that track. It was fun getting back to Nata the day I filmed this. A thunderstorm started while I was filming and I had to run back to the car to stop getting soaked. Driving back along that track in the pissing rain is not easy. You can forget brakes, as as the mud has turned to oil. You just have to pick a route in advance and hope you don't slide into the big ditch in the middle of the track.

This is why you should always have a handy spade and a small pickaxe when you drive there. I have had to dig my car out twice now.
