I've seen that ancient RAF helicopter many times parked in that back road above Yeroskipou beach (commonly known as Riccos beach, since 1974), when driving down from Nata to Riccos Beach via the short cut, in order to slide another 2 or 3 large cold bottles of (rather expensive) Carslberg down my gullet, whilst doing soduko puzzles, or playing backgammon (UK rules) with ex-pats...
I would love to live in a small shed on top of Ricco's canopy, but he told me that the structure wasn't safe to walk on, sadly... And his make-believe guns 'n cannons on the beach, to keep the Turks away? Awesome, LOL! The sparrows loved them for perching and even nesting. His toilets, well, best not mention them, eh?
The local Yeroskipou authority were trying to evict Ricco a few years back, in order to build a new 'short cut' road from Pafos sea front straight through to PFO airport. I bet the Pafos Taxi Mafia loved that idea? NOT! Did that ever happen, or ongoing, peeps?
In fact, is Riccos Beach (since1974) @Yeroskipou beach still up and running? Someone pleeeeze go down and have a look, a lunch, a beer, take a few photos of all his amazing wildlife he looks after and feeds (ducks, geese, goats, you name it, he's looking after it)
Thanks- bottom of my heart- AL
