EU to cut assistance to Turkey over activities in Cyprus EEZ

The EU will cut its pre-accession assistance to Turkey by €145.8m next year, it emerged on Thursday when the first indications of EU sanctions against Turkey over its activities in Cyprus' EEZ were revealed....

Correct decision, The EU cant put sanctions against Russia/Iran etc and turn a blind eye to Turkey and its Despot leader.

It should be total sanctions. Cuts aren’t effective enough.

Unfortunately countries like Germany and the UK, have big trade deals with Turkey, and don't want to upset them.

Its small change €146 million to Turkey. Should have the testicles to enter full sanctions against them.

The sooner Erogdan and his bully boys are voted out the better

It might be small change, but it's another nail in their plummeting economy.... History has taught us that Dictators like Recep Tayyip Erdoğan ,will finish up in the dustbin of History like other Despots that preceded him.

Even if they can find oil, any company trying to sell it we be hauled before the courts, and the consequences for that company would not be worth carrying on.
