Thanks Flossie for that alert. Our pool is being emptied on Friday as we have huge problems with blocked pipes and the distance from the pump room to the pool. We intend to swim in the sea instead so will wear beach shoes in the water.

We always wear beach shoes in the sea. Partly because of the pebbles, but mostly because I trod on a weaver fish in Cornwall, and they are bloody painful.

If you tread on one, you need to get hot water on it ASAP. As quick as you can. The life guard put my foot in a washing up bowl and I poured boiling water over it, as hot as I could bear. I then left my foot in it for about an hour.

We swim at Geroskipou Beach and always wear beach shoes there for that very reason Dominic. Also, being diabetic, I try to take as mch care of my feet as I can, although, up to date, have had no problems.
