Gesy and self-employment

Hello,
Can anyone tell me what I'm supposed to do as a self-employed person in Cyprus? At present I pay a hefty 16% or so of my income every three months. The Gesy contribution is supposed to be 2.55% this year.
If I register with Gesy, will I be paying another 2.55% in ADDITION to what I already pay, or INSTEAD of what I pay now?
I know it's early days but if anyone else is in the same situation and knows what's going on, I'd be happy to hear from you.
Best wishes
Carl
