Cracking speech from Theresa May in Scotland, laying down the desperate state the SNP are leaving Scotland in order to pursue Sturgeons personal dream of independence. She could not have made it clearer.

Long overdue ....... time NS was reined in as should her predecessor Alex Salmond have been long ago! Scotland would be on its knees by now if those 2 had got their way! Reminds me of a great Peter Brookes cartoon .............

Well if Sturgeon continues on her self obsessed independence route, then perhaps the Scottish electorate will do the job. There seems to be less enthusiasm now for independence than at the last referendum, yet she is pursuing her personal dream. No reports I've seen give Scotland a cat in hells chance of being able to fund and support itself, yet this silly woman is bent on her own personal dream of independence, like the similarly obsessed Salmond before her.
I guess at the end of the day the Scots will have their say. Hopefully, the sensible majority will realise that their only hope of future prosperity lies in remaining within the Union. What hopes fur Sturgeons political future then??? Or indeed the SNP?

I agree with what you say, however Sturgeon takes heart from the fact that the % in favour of separation is higher than 2014, so the swing will be less.
I take heart in the fact that the Scots are a canny race, hopefully common sense will prevail.
A vote to remain in the Union will finish the 2 fish, Sturgeon and Salmon (d) and not before time!
They will sink without trace.

It's up to the Scots (not Scottish Hudswell) to decide their fate.
We're a canny folk though can be roused at times by rhetoric.
However I think you'll find common sense prevails in the end and certainly at the moment with the large deficit as it is and the price of oil having tumbled it's a far cry from the last referendum.

Plus, I think they need UK government agreement to a referendum?? Not too sure May in her current stance would be anywhere near granting this.
Albeit this could enhance Sturgeons subsequent "we wus robbed" whinge.
I live in hope that the ever canny Scots may eventually see through her OWN ambitions - which simply override the best solution for Scotland.
Come on you braves, fight for Scotland's future not for Sturgeons personal political aspirations!!!

Eventually our hopes were to end up in Scotland, but are concerned that the country has lost its way, we own property in Edinburgh, but the current political environment may make a return difficult. Scotland outside the Union, and in limbo, betwixt and between the EU and who knows what is a big worry.
Are we right to be concerned?

I left Scotland over 35 years ago, but it is still my home!
My original post was tongue in cheek, I guess to get the answers I was seeking.
The questions are still unanswered.

Outside the Union is what the SNP want, I understand that.
But outside the Union and outside the EU, where is the future then?
Also why leave the Union to be governed by the EU?
Is it a step to far?

I'm butting in here. Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith - there are no guarantees our decisions will always be the right ones no matter the research.

You do so make me wish my late husband was still alive (I do anyway) on this particular subject. You and he would have an excellent debate but Dominic would have to have a special section for the two of you. Alastair was most definitely anti independence and definitely anti SNP as are his family all still living in Scotland. Ah well not to be.
