Before I came to Cyprus, I still liked exploring old abandoned stuff...

This is an old firing range butts. I love the way nature is claiming it back.

This is an old road on the banks of the Thames, near Tower Bridge. At low tide, the beach along the South Bank is great fun to explore.

This was our best remembered find, an old abandoned railway line in the middle of nowhere. It didn't go very far, but it was fun following the tracks.

This reservoir has since been trashed, unfortunately...

Love that one along the Thames!

That final image of the wall reminds me of our train journeys in and out of Liverpool Lime Street station, one of the walls collapsed on Tuesday evening bringing some chaos to the commuters on the Manchester airport to Liverpool and Liverpool to London Euston lines. Very lucky there wasn't a major accident as when the wall fell, it triggered a red signal as if there was a train on the line and the closest train managed to stop just in time.

I too love these old places and looking forward to some exploration now we're back in UK. Nearest we got in Cyprus was inside the Berengaria Hotel at Prodromos.

There's a TV series starting next Tuesday on Yesterday TV channel called Abandoned Engineering.
