Naturalisation in Cyprus

According to the Cyprus mail, over 800 British ex-pats have applied for naturalisation in Cyprus (aka getting a Cypriot passport). Are any of the forum members one of the 800?
I am applying for naturalisation later this year, and it would be useful if anyone who has already done this could share that experience and give any advice/tips.

We applied for my wife and it took us one year to get her citizenship. We used an immigration lawyer based in Nicosia; not cheap but worth it as we were going nowhere trying to do it by ourselves. It may be different for a British citizen but I found there's no special treatment for UK passport holders with TCN spouses.

I applied in August last year. Husband didn’t bother, he’s dual Brit/Irish.
I put a long post on another forum about my experience so I’ll see if I can find it and post it here.

I’ve just asked a lawyer friend this week to check the status of my application.

Thanks lots Loubychew. Much appreciated.
I only have one question. You mention doing it through the Town hall. Given I live in a village that is not within a Municipality, where would I go?

I also live in a village that is out of the municipality.
For you, assuming you live in Paphos it must be Paphos Town Hall.
Certainly immigration couldn’t help me at all and I did get the right advice, person and forms from Limassol Town Hall.
