Any recommendations for car insurance companies that allow monthly payments would be greatly appreciated.
So far, we've only been offered plans to pay 6 months or one year up front by a few companies, but with our recent wedding, moving to a new country, finally finding a house, buying a car (plus saving for our honeymoon and a family reunion abroad), we simply cannot pay *that* much up front. We possibly could make quarterly payments work, but monthly would be really ideal.

Cheers!

Been with Atlantic for over thirty years, and had excellent service, go there and talk to someone, rather then over the phone, they might work a deal for you.

I would also advice on Atlantic Insurance. Been with them for 25 years and they have been excellent and never a problem with a claim.

Morning campers, I am very happy that you are happy with that company, I really am, but I had a bad experience with them.
I think those that remember a similar thread on CL may remember my trials and tribulations with that company, who at the time we had
all our insurances with, medical, house and contents, and both motors, not now we use other local companies and avoid the one mentioned with a barge pole, whatever that is.
Austin7 where have I mentioned that company?, I suggest if you had the same treatment as we did you would be the first to shout the loudest, I will stay with the two companies we do use. I was told by the above company it was an act of God, I said to them what god!!!
And Austin7 I will continue to tell it as it is, and I will continue to do so. As we all should, but no names no pack drill
Also, Top Quotes are far cheaper with there quotations, try them and see, they are just Brokers as are the other company mentioned.

You made it perfectly clear, which company you were referring to.

We were with Atlantic for four years, they were very good. In year five, we made a claim......they were absolutely awful, restrictions on policy get more signatures from Doctors etc etc. We did not renew in year six. Seems that in Cyprus, very little is worth the paper its written on.

As I recall Jimx, it wasn't Atlantic Insurance who persuaded you to drive through a very deep dip, on a road you knew very well approaching the Village Inn from Tremithousa, around 3ft as you estimated at the time, in spite of your wife telling you not go through it, and flooded your engine.
Nor, as I understood it at the time was it the fault of Atlantic insurance that you hadn't taken out the insurance that would have covered you for this very instance.
So who does that leave at fault for Atlantic Insurance being unable to cover the humungous cost of replacing your engine? Clue - it's not Atlantic Insurance.

WHL you love arguing, don't you!
You made it perfectly clear, which company you were referring to.
Well, I did not name drop, but most will remember the thread on CL at the time, if anyone wishes to know my reasons they are welcome to PM me, it is a sorry story that was not of my making, but as they said an act of God, would I use them again, never, unfortunately.
And Jac's you may post what happened even if you have a rather a big mouth do you really wish me to post your lifes problems openly?.as usual you do not know the real story.
I asked my new then insurer would I be covered by normal road potholes filled with rainwater, this was not a pothole but a fault with road drainage on an access road, they said definitely yes, nuff said really and those promoting the company above should keep that in mind, by the way, I also took a Lawyer with me at the time he was astonished at what their Comprehensive insurance did not cover! be warned. Read that small print.
Also, read Alan's post of his account of that company, you can never trust any insurance company if they can get away with it they will, do not be so smug on this ...

Why ask your new insurer if they covered normal potholes filled with rainwater? This is absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with potholes. It was a whacking great dip in the road which (a) has been there for years, (b) which you have driven through dozens, if not hundreds of times, also (c) due to the incessant rain we had had was not apparent on approaching it, unless (d) you kept your wits about you and used your common sense and didn't drive through like 17 year old who had just passed his test.
I may have a big mouth Jimx but - unlike you- I also have an excellent memory and I can remember the incident very very clearly, and everything you said at the time.
Face it, you were in the wrong, you should have had more sense than to drive through a 3ft deep water bath. Do words like 'flood' and 'engine' just not figure in your vocabulary? A bit like the words, I was in the wrong, it was my own fault. Atlantic were quite right...............
Guess that's a no then Jimx. Stop blaming Atlantic for your mistakes such as (a) not having the sense to turn back and avoid the flood and (b) not expecting your insurers to be mind readers and cover you for everything under the planet.
As I said, only one party at fault and it's not Atlantic.

If you are still looking for quotes, the directory has a few companies, not all of whom are brokers.

Well we managed to get insurance, but the car we bought broke down the very next morning and of course the original owner is ignoring our calls and messages. I'm guessing we are SOL.
