I believe it was the first Aircraft to have what is now called Super Cruise. You are not alone in your liking of this plane, it is one of the most popular among Corgi toy collectors with the plane frequently reproduced in various liveries and scales

used to love going to the Akrotiri airbase with my dad,being up against the the chain link fence by the runway watching the Lightnings and Vulcan bombers taking off just over 200 yds away,the roar of the engines tingles down my spine,from then wanted to be a pilot,alas colour blindness blew that out he window :( ....but i did get to fly a chipmunk over the isle of sheppey while in the ATC!

You just tripped my memory with that comment. I built an Airfix kit as a youngster. I remember being totally stalled building the model because the wing tanks go on top of the wing and not below. I glued them the way I thought was right only to find surprise surprise, about six months later, that Airfix were right. :D :D

My Dad was a wing commander so mistakes like that wouldn't be allowed. :lol:

He said “I was with it all the way till I let the brakes OFF!
