Last summer, the private apartment complex, the Royal Seacrest in Kato Paphos, fell victim to Cyprus' overly stringent regulations on swimming pools and had to close one of its major attractions.Barring a miracle, summer 2019 promises more of the same: swimming will be banned....

I really can't understand what reason they have for being so anal about this when you look at the general attitude to rules and regulations.

Hopefully other Municipalities will follow the lead of Peyia:

The real problem is the matter of whether the public liability insurance will be valid for using unlicensed pools and who would be liable if their is an indecent

When renewing our development's insurance with TopQuotes I asked this very question, and was assured that the cover is good whether the pool is licensed or not.
The real test will be if we need to make a claim but I don't know what else can be done.
