GBP-Euro topping 1.16

The GBP has just topped 1.16 to the Euro...The highest in over a year..Any one know the reason for this

Don't know, but I have exchanged a 1000 quid just in case it is a 'flash in the pan'

Apparently, it's because the latest media reports say May is going to rule out a no-deal B****t!

Surprised to see a better exchange rate, so took advantage of it earlier today. Always use the figure after any charges rather than the one quoted for the exchange. Does Transferwise have a fixed rate or does it depend on how much is transferred? Have seen it recommended often so wonder how the overall cost compares to Currency Fair which charges €3 per transaction.

Currency Fair usually quote 50 points below the interbank rate to purchase euros against sterling plus the 3 euros charges.
