There is a BIG difference between Denmark (no. 1) and Cyprus (no.2).
In Denmark, most of the municipal waste is burnt cleanly (there is even a plant in central Copenhagen) to produce energy (electricity and heat): economically and ecologically positive.
In Cyprus, most of it is still filthily land-filled to produce dirt, vermin and smells: economically and ecologically negative.
