Seeing the flooding that does occur in the low-lying areas, does the water conveyor not take a lot of this before it runs off into the sea? Seems like most rainfall is being lost...

It's what Limassol gets for being coastal I guess. Any rain falling between the reservoirs and the sea will go through Limassol. And when there is a huge amount of rain, it just can't cope.
Take our house in Polemi; in downpours such as this, the water coming down from the roof is a raging torrent.

Thanks for the memory Dominic. We took a wee trip through to Limassol one February and it looked just like that. . . . . .running in rivers it was.

Loved it. We sat in a cafe for around 30 minutes and by the time we had finished our coffee the streets had 'almost ' cleared again.
