Any garage/mechanic recommendations for replacing oxygen sensor on an old Toyota saloon?

Hi Tuppence
I read this last night, and thought, how do you know that you have a oxygen sensor problem unless a mechanic has told you so.
Quite often as Lloyd has pointed out, it may be something else that may be a cheaper fix.

Thanks HIC & Austin 7. We have used Kyriakos & Erodotos in the past. We only have the one vehicle & find that because they are so busy we can be tied up there for hours in the middle of nowhere, the only option being to walk up to Tremithousa. I was hoping someone could recommend a smaller garage.

Uncle D - we had the same fault approximately 4 years ago.

I once had a very similar problem with a Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI it kept running really roughly especially when cold, so bad I could have got out and walked faster, I took the car to a Peugeot dealer in our area and they assured me they had found the problem, they didn't, it started again a few days later, I even took the car to a top racing Peugeot tuning "expert" again in our area, again I paid for the repair and later again it failed. So I had heard that the Lambda sensor was maybe the problem on the Catalytic converter (exhaust) called out a mobile exhaust chap who changed this sensor, problem solved the car ran fast and furious as it should, goes to show not all so-called experts know their jobs.

There is a garage on Mesogi Ind estate, I have used and have been happy with their work, cant remember the name of garage but the owner is called Tony 99164587, maybe you have friends or neighbours who could give you a lift?
Four years is a very short time for that problem to appear again, they may have fitted a used sensor on.
