Well, that was quite scary in my place last night, when one after the other thundery front appeared. Of course I switched off and unplugged electricity to my computer and went in my bedroom and placed the camera next to the sliding door window in order to get some pics from this spectacular situation. I took more than 100 photos until I got some good results....

So this was the best one in my opinion.... but did that bang as it was right overhead

I don't really like thunder when they are too close to my property as in the past it struck several times very very close and house was shaking...
This one struck not far away from me..

After that last one I went in my car ( the most secure place when lightning strikes ) with the camera on the dashboard, but then the front moved behind the house and no more lucky shots...

She will stop laughing as soon as one day she get struck by lightning IN the house as it happened to me many years ago in the Italian mountains. It was in a Pizzeria and when it happened the tables around were shaking and glasses falling like an nasty earthquake....

There is an article today in PaphosPress, reporting that in Salamiou village (above Xeros river valley) 12 goats and a dog died from lightning.
(Marginal note: the photo in the article was done safely from a very far distance of the thunder, unlike my pics, which were right below the thunder cloud..) But I must admit that I was so busy and exited to get good shots with my camera that I forgot that I actually scared when there is heavy lightning nearby...

Hi Andreas, luckily my dog, a Alsatian, is shot-proofed, (German: schussfest) not trained for it, but she is (shot-proofed) and slept all night outside in her dog house. When I checked her she was fast asleep. (guard dog..., feeding time 9 PM, so she sleeps at least a couple of hours after that..)
