I wonder how its got so dirty already, was it builders mess?

How could it look similar to the old place? It is a totally different building. You sure you got the right place?

Surprised you didn't have your camera with you to capture a shot of the new place.

We drove past the rear of the joint about an hour ago and couldn't really see any change either. I actually had my camera with me but we had to be somewhere at 3:30 so didn't bother taking a snap.

You can't really blame Andreas. The Council knocked down his old place, which had running water, then let him use the new building which still, after all this time, hasn"t got electricity or a water supply.

I know it's a bit. If a crock deal for him, but surely he shouldn't be allowed to serve food and/or drinks until he has both running water and hygienic toilets???

No eating establishment should operate without running water,

I think the main problem is nobody knows what is actually happening.

Sorry, can't help with photos at the moment as my daily walk is now along the prom at Rhos on Sea and Colwyn Bay. I know this is Cyprus, but strict hygiene regulations should be enforced island wide, with no exceptions. In the UK all establishments that serve food are inspected and graded. This is for the public's safety.

I always get my drink at Stavros's kiosk, by the Imperial Hotel. He only sells drinks and has running water and the kiosk is spotlessly clean.

Then why knock his old place down, which had electricity (generator) and water, before the new place was ready.
I do however, agree about the toliets.

The above answers from previous posters about Cyprus’s strict hygiene regulations, still beg the question why is Riccos operating his beach kiosk at all without anyone from the Paphos Municipality checking? In fact has he got permission to start there or has he taken the law into his own hands? Its hard to believe that he is there legally having the necessary hygiene permit . Surely It couldn’t be issued as he apparently has no essential services connected.

Personally I just wouldn’t go to any place which looked dirty to get food or drink not wanting to risk a gastric upset or worse..

As a long time visitor I agree with Lloyd. Never had an upset tummy in CY but some have spoken highly of this bar in the past. With so little information perhaps best to avoid at the moment?

I usually have a canned or bottled drink in a plastic glass.
No health issues there, but I must admit I'd think twice about having food there, at the moment.
