Yes....without sparking the east v west debate, it did say that they settled for an apartment 10 mins away from Mandria

It was Tala Panorama (Hadjidemosthenous) - the lowest development in Tala off Tala to Kissonerga road.

I only hope the local Cypriot population is less critical of how badly some of the expat community pronounce stuff here.

Crikey that's really gone to the dogs that place or last time I was up there it had! Is it still full of graffiti?
Yes 'a' as in Sally - a short one - Dala!
Bit confused here, are we talking about graffiti at Tala Panorama? I signed the approval for the TV company to film there in May on behalf the Owners committee and it is not, and never has been, full of graffiti. In fact our owners are consistently full of praise on the cleanliness of the complex.

Right, both of you either get a room or leave each other alone.

Not sure about this comment either. No graffiti and a lovely development.

A bit damaging if an owner is trying to sell a property there!
Very true and not consistent with reality, especially as at the moment I'm just writing another welcome email to a another new owner who's bought on the back of being a well maintained complex. I'm there for a Committee meeting tomorrow and will double check for any graffiti me and the other owners may have missed.

To be pedantic... the Greek T is pronounced somewhere between a T and D. If you use D as in dog, it is much too heavy and if you use B as in boat instead of P it is also much too heavy. The way I was taught by my Greek teacher for T was to pronounce it with a T but put your tongue behind your teeth which lowers the T sound. Same with P, try to go for a combination of P and B by using a much softer and lighter B sound.

It should be pronounced Tala in Greek but the cypriots do pronounce it Dala, as they pronounce Pafos, Bafos, it's just the local accent.

Not pedantic at all Lofos-Jan. I started Greek Cypriot lessons some years ago and as well as T = D, P = B we were told 'K' was pronounced as 'G' so Kato sounded like Gato! Caused much hilarity when I practiced speaking and so quickly picked up the correct pronunciation. Although the learning format was good in that each week we covered a different topic so we could get out there and practice and hold proper conversations, the pronunciation was a big let down so I stopped going.
