I seem to recollect that subliminal advertising was banned some time ago?
Recently it appears that it has returned, the advertising for I'm a celebrity features a single note, that immediately makes you think of the show.
Clever marketing or brainwashing??????

Surely none of the above are subliminal? I though the whole point about subliminal advertising is that you weren't aware of the message they're trying to send?

Subliminal advertising was band in the UK.
This kind of advertising was done by inserting a single frame into a row of frames in a film string.
You normally in the UK have a frame rate of 25 frames per second, so you would have a 1/25th of a second flash of the advert which would be captured by you mind with out you knowing it.
That was how it was done, and yes it started in the USA first!

The I'm a Celebrity add is definitely subliminal.
It is a short note, with no other content and on to next ad (wish I could post it)
You do however know what the note refers to.

My comment was oh so "slightly" tongue in cheek
Yes, the subliminal smiley was a bit of a giveaway but I was really replying to the original post to be honest.
