Magbox remote control for sound

Finding it difficult to adjust sound on magbox remote control.Do I need to go to settings on magbox ?Any help appreciated
Crank up the volume using the TVs own remote control then use the Mag remote to fine tune across the range of volume you usually listen to.
It is not unusual for adverts to broadcast at much higher volume levels than the program you might be watching which can be annoying.
