Yep, absolutely tipping it down. But the drains the council dug out seem to be doing their thing.

Beautiful sunshine here at Minthis area as well as at Timi beach where I just came from... but I can hear some thunder in the distance...

Dark sky, but no rain. 205 lightning flashes detected between 10-20 km away in last 90 minutes. Looks like Nicosia area is getting it again.

And I was at the beach snorkelling in calm warm seas under blue skies... I could hear thunder rumbling in the hills when I got out though

We were at the Olive Tree for a lunch that was considerably extended because nobody wanted to dash to their car in the deluge. And then when I got home, the power was off, fortunately not an outage, just the Schneider surge protector doing its job following a very close hit. Neighbours are waiting for their power to be restored.

Here, this afternoon, 1045 lightning strikes within 35 km, of which half-a-dozen within 5 km and one I guestimate from ~3 secs between flash and thunder at ~450 m. Not much rain, though' only 2.6 mm, as measured on my most accurate gauge, of the three.

That wasn't me Max but I wasn't far away at all. Back home this afternoon in Anarita we've had plenty of thunder and rain. 2 seasons in one day

We were at Tsangarides, Lemona today for tour of winery plus pre arranged lunch. Were there for a thunderstorm, plus torrential rain and large pieces of hail. Hilly road outside was briefly a torrent. Returning about 15.30 if was wet through Letymbou. But at top of hill before Kallepia and Tsada everywhere was bone dry. Had a few rolls of thunder in Zelemenos and caught edge of thunderstorm heading from mountains towards Tala/Trimithousa, all about 5.30.

Barely had any in Tremithousa, cat bowls had a bare sprinkle of water when I went out to feed them at 6. Nothing since, heard thunder rumbling in the distance, but that's all.

The forecast on AccuWeather for Wed/Thurs. shows nearly 100 l/m2 in this two days with a big drop in temperature.... I wonder if it happens so extreme, but then look what happened in Mallorca recently when 12 people drowned in the floods as the amount of rain was 230 l in two hours only. But wait and see, it was never as it was forecast in the past...

Windy.com at the moment is giving lots of rain on Thursday, together with thunder and lightning for most of the daylight hours.
