We came through Thunder , Lightning and heavy rain on our way back from Nicosia early this afternoon.
There has since been the odd spot of rain and distant thunder in Polemi

We've had scattered showers throughout the day in our little corner of Polemi.

Tremithousa is clearly ignoring the storm warnings! But we do need the rain!!! Pretty sure it won't be long before we have the deluge! Hope you keep dry V!!

About a dozen spots of rain in this corner of Polemi - thus completing the rain triangulation for Polemi.

I measured 28.7 mm of rain yesterday, not counting the hail that overflowed the rain gauge, possibly another 5 to 10 mm. Over four hours, we had about 200 lightning strikes between 10 and 30+ km from here in the afternoon.
Please note my weather forecast has gone haywire because one of my data sources in Florida has become corrupt. I'm working on an alternative data source and hope to be back online as soon as possible.

No rain as yet in our area, I did hear thunder in the mountains but that just faded away.
I feel for the people in Majorca and those who died, I always worry that could happen here.

Yes, terrible what happened at Majorca when they had 230 l/m2 rain in TWO HOURS. We had in Cyprus where I am home, (my measuring at Minthis) so far from 1.1.18 until today only 165 l/m2, that are 9 1/2 month. It is the other side of climate change, drought....
