Howling hunting dogs

We live next door to Cypriots that have three hunting dogs in a cage. Although they are quiet most of the time, over the past two weeks they have been howling at about 6.15am and 6.15pm every day.
We are concerned there is something wrong with them. Has anyone idea why they are doing this?
They are taken out perhaps once a week but during the summer months hardly at all.
They just seem so sad and frustrated, pot thing.
Why does anyone think they are howling?

We hear howling dogs every morning and evening at about that time. Only in the distance, far enough away to be cute, rather than annoying. One dog starts, and the rest of the village joins in.

Its the equivalent of ''Facebook for dogs''

Besides the abovementioned most likely reason, i.e., to do with feeding routine, the other likely cause could be someone who has taken to walking early morning and evening by the cages with a dog. I expect you may have ruled this out, but the explosion when I go past a nearby place with caged dogs with my hunter is embarrassingly loud! [My dog is male, and many hunting dogs tend to be female- they scent him before they see him!]

It's always worth having a quiet chat with the mukhtar. They can often sort things out.
