I would think that is the reason. Joanna's opposite the cork and bottle had to close, a few years ago, as they did not have a licence for food. It then reopened but is now closed. Mikes Bar does bingo and quiz, so wonder if they have the appropriate permissions.

So now we live in a village with no tavernas in the actual village. However, Michael's opposite the army camp is still open and we had a lovely meal there last week.

Bingo is classed as gambling here and needs a licence, went to one in Larnaca, recently and we had to become members before we could play,.

Information from a friend who lives in Anarita. They are in court next week. When bars etc had to get licences they were told it didn't apply to them. There has been a noise complaint by a resident. Police etc came, found they didn't have relevant licences so have been closed till it is sorted.
