Yes, that’s good and I saw the artical too.
But, the older generation often lived a much more austere sort of life, at least in the villages, they lived simply, ate fresh seasonal food, much less meat, no fast food and many did manual labour on the farms and in the fields. They were probably leaner and fitter.
The younger generation live mainly in towns, do sedentary jobs and drive from door to door. Fast food is much more popular now rather than just the healthy Meditterraean diet. There are far more overweight or obese people around, even children. It remains to be seen whether the changes in lifestyle have any effect on their longeivity.

In Britain, one of The wealthiest countries on earth, life expectancy in parts of Liverpool can be as low as 56! It can even vary by 13 years within a 5 minute walk. India has an average of 63.
